ACLU right about prayer

I would like to respectfully disagree with your opinion of the American Civil Liberties Union's action to end mandatory prayer at the Naval Academy .

Mr. Mallory - There is nothing right about the ACLU. The ACLU is out to destroy the country both you and I wore the uniform for and swore to defend. You seem to forget what the term GI means. It means Government Issue and that means the military is you mommy and tells you how it's going to be. There is no First Amendment in the military and that's the way it should be. We don't need a bunch of cry baby liberal officers and soldiers whining about their rights and "gee...that ain't fair." Trouble with some of the young people in this country today is they're a bunch of coddled spoiled clowns.

Two sick puppies. The government is not there to choose your religion for you. Even in the military you have the right to believe as you wish. Otherwise what are you supposedly fighting for? The right to be forced to believe a certain way? The ACLU gets a bad rap from the right wing kooks who don't seem to care about everyones rights. The ACLU doesn't surely like the KKK but will fight for their rights to hold a legal rally as long as they are in the bounds of the law. The ACLU will even support people like you. They have a job to do and that is to protect everyones right regardless how narrowminded or ignorant.

Eric,

Oh, to be so shortsighted and wrong. You know nothing about me so please do not generalize about me. Because I may have a different opinion than you does not make me narrowminded or ignorant. I think of it as being open minded and receptive to differing viewpoints, even yours.

I do know that your dribble is becoming increasingly hard to tolerate. You can state whatever you want and all are to accept your viewpoint. My, my aren't we arrogant and self righteous. And Jimmy and I are narrowminded and ignorant?

Oh, to be so shortsighted and wrong.

The ACLU gets their jollies from engaging in Christian Persecution. They also like to persecute others who don't agree with the ACLU's PERVERTED VIEW of America's Constitution.

The ACLU is evil personified. When was the last time you heard of them defending something good? Never......they fight for the rights of pedophiles over the rights of children who have been raped and murdered. They fight for the rights of terrorists over the rights of the safety of US citizens....They fight for the rights of a persons freedom of speech, even if it terrorizes whole towns. By this I mean an incident that happened several years ago in this area. A teenage punk was posting Columbine-like stuff on the internet, threatening kids and teachers in his high school. When this was found out, he was expelled from HS. HIs loosey-goosey parents called the ACLU and they of course went to bat for the little creep. They won, and he not only was permitted back in school, but also the school district had to pay him 80 grand. About a year later, the druggie kid also hit and killed an elderly woman with his vehicle. Obviously from the get go, the little SOB should have been put away somewhere, but the ACLU made sure he was rewarded for his actions. His rights obviously outweighted the rights of people in the area to send their kids to school. So you liberals can sit there and say that the ACLU is some wonderful organization all you want and stick up for it, but to me it just shows what irrational, heartless, asses you all are.

I don't believe that the military is telling our young men and women what they will believe in regards to faith. Faith has been a very large part of our history. I believe in prayer but understand that others may not. I don't understand why those who don't cann't just stand there and allows othres to follow their beliefs. Why do those with faith always have to be the ones to pray in secret. Those who do't want to pray don't have to just stand there. I do believe the ACLU will destry this counrty if we let them.

Yup...those b astards at the ACLU here's some more of the cases they've tried to destroy our country with:
http://www.aclu.org/religion/govtfunding/2652...

You'll be "amazed" to find that most of them involve allowing christians to practice their faith. One of them is even for help at a zoning hearing to allow a baptist church to hold religious services.

You may not agree with half of what the ACLU does, and they would defend your right to do so.

Would you be willing to be forced to "just stand there" during a muslim call to prayer or a wicken ceremony?

United States Army uniform was proudly worn by myself and many other brave men. www.28thinfantry.org/ 28th Inf.(Black Lions), 1st. Army (Big Red One), Vietnam 1966-68. Do you have problem with that?

If you didn't learn anything through all of the Vietnam experience then there is a good chance you still will be in the dark after the Iraq fiasco. Some people are just short sighted and narrowminded. It is their right but please try to expand your vision. THE CORPORATE MEDIA IS CONSTANTLY MAKING FOOLS OF US. They talk about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohun and snakes with two heads and other such nonsense but never inform us as to what is really going on in the world. Most people don't know that not only are we on Iraq wholy for oil we are also in Afghanistan for an oil pipeline. Do a little research and become informed because the corporate press will not do it for you. A plethera of attractive commontators and the murder of the day but nothing substantial in the way of real news. This is no accident. This is the intentions of the corporate media to redirect you away from facts and true news to entertainment and nothing more than a virtual National Enquirer grocery store tabloid.

And I served with the 25th Infantry in RVN 68-69...I did that then because I loved this country and all that it stands for...and I believed the lies coming out of Washington....

Now being much more mature and perceptive I am wary of politicians and protective of my rights....and that is why I support the ACLU and it's fight to defend all Americans against false applications of the rights inherent in our constitution.....too bad some folks learned nothing since the 60's....

So, how many kills did you register? Don't be bashful-let us know. You can divide it up into Charlie kills and civilian kills. I'll even give you bonus points for children since they're small and hard to get a bead on.
