Recently, I was going through an old box and found a picture of my father. As I held it in my hands, I remembered his life, and it was amazing how many emotions the picture communicated.

I continued through other boxes, finding more and more photographs, and was struck again by the fact that, in every instance, I was looking at pictures of life.

Then it dawned on me—this is why the left hates ultrasounds, which are just another type of picture of life. They hate the emotion, the possibilities, and especially the metaphysical connection one life communicates to another, even in pictures.

And this goes a long way in explaining the all-out assault on ultrasound laws we’ve seen from the proponents of the culture of death in the last few years and especially in the past few months.

They want to hide the pictures in order to hide the life.

A simple Internet search for “ultrasound” and “abortion” uncovers myriad clips and articles on the subject, including a February 2012 exchange between the hosts of The View concerning the Virginia ultrasound law that was predominant in news coverage at that time.

The exchange begins with one host complaining that such a law would force “girls who are pregnant to see the child, the infant, the fetus, whatever at that point.” In a politically correct, egalitarian approach, the host was saying whether you call the baby a child, an infant, a fetus, whatever at that point, her problem was forcing girls to see what was inside them.

The irony came when another host, who was listening to all the names that could be applied to what the girl was carrying, interjected unwaveringly—“the fetus,” i.e., don’t call the baby a baby! After all, that’s one of the few four-letter words that the left does not want to hear.

This entire exchange, the terms used, and the terms avoided, revolve around a fight to prevent pictures of life.

What the hosts of The View and so many of their friends in other pro-abortion circles know is that none of their “word-smithing” will matter if a 17-year-old girl is allowed see pictures of her baby. At that point, words like “fetus” are irrational, for a mother is looking at her child and can no longer deny its humanity.

When such light is shed, the darkness of denial is lifted.

Pictures of life are important. And whether we’re talking about the one I found of my father or the one a distraught young mother will see of the child she’s carrying, they all remind us that life is too precious to be discarded.

"When such light is shed, the darkness of denial is lifted."

With the mothers who see the babies in their wombs, darkness flees.

With the intractable abortion apostles, moral darkness remains willfully invincible.

Nobody "hates" ultrasound pictures. This is a dishonest--yet not surprising--tactic of the pro-slavery movement to describe a protest against comuplosory guilting as an avoidance of information.

All medically necessary ultrasounds are fine. All ultrasounds to the contrary are not, unless the woman in question asks for them. They cost money, time and in the case of abortion deterrent, they also cost dignity.

Vaginal ultrasounds should never be compelled by law. If there is not a medical need for it, compelling a woman to undergo it in order to procure a legal operation of her own choosing is nothing short of sexual violation.

I know that some prolifers will try to say that because a woman consented to sex, she has therefore consented to allowing all manner of penetration and no longer has the right to say "no" or claim human dignity, but they are 100% wrong and in severe need of counseling.

Women don't relinquish their bodily rights when they choose to have sex. Those who claim otherwise are rapists and/or rape advocates.

I also hope that prolifers who adopt this disgusting philosophy are either sterile or have no daughters of their own.

Well done, Leonine. It is disgusting to me to watch the anti-choice zealots manipulate emotion in this fashion. It works on stupid people, though, as seen above.

Cool, feeb. Does this mean you'll stop responding to PC people? THat would be a good thing. BTW, there is no such thing as a pro-abort. That's the kind of silly, hyper-emotional crap that so invalidates your position among the grownups in the real world.

This coming from someone who dresses up their rat? No, I won't stop responding to pro life low lifes. BTW there is such a thing as a PRO ABORT. You are pro abortion right? Ok, hence PRO ABORT. Got it? I suspect you're one of those who has no life other than to play dress up with animals all day. You speak of the real world? Why not join it?

Glad I could make you smile! Why don't you give me your perspective on abortion, and instead of attacking each other we can have a dialogue?

Well, in a nutshell, I loathe abortion. I wish there would never be another single, solitary abortion. Especially for our youth. I feel as if they really need to avoid pregnancy altogether, as *any* of the outcomes are difficult and often life-changing, not necessarily for the better.

SInce I know that it is pointless to make abortion illegal, I strongly push for much better pre-teen comprehensive education. Not only "sex ed", but "life ed." They need to get a better handle on what their future could potentially be if they choose to have sex and end up with a pregnancy, with emphasis on abstinence truly being the healthiest "choice" until they are ready to deal with a family. They need to get factual information on all the gestational stages during pregnancy, so that they know exactly what the z/e/f looks like and has achieved developmentally (or not), so that they can push away misinformation (from *both* PL and PC) and make an informed "choice," one that is consistent with their values and their thoughts for the future, whatever that might be.

I also strongly advocate for readily available, quality, inexpensive contraception. If people *do* choose to have sex, and really aren't ready to start a family, then I feel that they should be able to prevent a pregnancy. Sure, many times they say "what the heck, now is as good a time as any to start a family," but many times they don't. Adoption and abortion are the only choices left, which may be scary for them. Let's try to reduce those unwanted pregnancies as much as possible.

I started out being PL, and still am, to some degree. I just learned a great deal on these threads over the years, and came to the conclusion that unwanted pregnancy *prevention* was, in my opinion, the best way to go.

So. I am far from being "pro abort". I'm not "pro" anything, except letting people make their own educated decision. Actually, most PC are quite similar, or so it seems to me. I just don't believe we should force anyone to adopt out, abort, or keep their pregnancy. I feel that if we inform them enough, then leave them to make the choice that THEY will have to deal with the rest of their lives (not us!), that this is the best we can hope for in a civilized society. I feel that abortion rates will automatically go down (and they are, actually, yippeee!!) once our kids make *healthier* choices.

Thanks for listening :)

Peoples of the earth, you have hated life!

You have polluted MY garden!

DISEASED AND AWFUL GENERATION,
YOU HAVE DESTROYED THE GARDEN!...

And so I am come to cleanse! And to wipe away!...

I am come down!...

MY FACE IS VERY NEAR!

Do you feel the heat of My wrath, O ignorant and vain peoples?!... You retain no knowledge at all! Only greed and wickedness, wickedness upon wickedness, passes before your eyes without ceasing... And oh how you love to have it so!
DEAD GENERATION! Your hearts are stone!... Day after day you build up wrath, the vessels overflow! Day by day, the bodies are stacked up in heaps! Day by day, the unborn are slaughtered!... Whole generations of people murdered without cause! Multitudes of innocent cast off as refuse!... Yet you think Me too harsh, and My punishments too severe, My judgments unfair?!

I AM THE LORD, AND THIS IS MY EARTH!
THESE ARE MY CHILDREN!...

All you see, from the ground beneath your feet
To the farthest reaches of the universe, is MINE!...

And I shall do as I please!

I shall do according to the counsel of My own will...

For I am God!

Therefore, O peoples of the earth, because you have slaughtered the innocent and murdered your neighbor... Lo, you have even made for yourselves laws, that all may do their pleasure in unrighteousness and perform evil at their leisure... So then shall I also declare MY Law, and it shall fall hard upon the backs of all nations!
Yea, I have put forth the decree, and hasten to carry out your sentences, O peoples of the earth! And what is the sentence, you ask?... Look upon the slaughtered innocent, look upon their torn and broken bodies... Behold how they are torn in pieces! See how their blood pours down and their limbs are strewn about!... LOOK!!! Look how they are scraped out of their mother’s womb!... Look upon the works of your hands, you evil and most wicked generation!... LOOK UPON YOUR WICKEDNESS!!! LOOK UPON ALL YOU HAVE DONE!

Thus says The Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth: Because of this blood, which remains on your hands, because of all the multitudes of slain you have piled up in heaps, because of the evil works of your hands in where you have agreed together, to both do and allow them, to make them law... THUS SHALL I, IN LIKE MANNER, DO UNTO YOU! IN LIKE MANNER SHALL YOU RECEIVE AT MY HAND!
Lo, even double shall you receive at My hand, and double again, until there is no place found that is not laid waste, until every land is polluted by the stink of rotting corpses. Both man and beast shall lie down in death together!... They shall be as refuse upon the land!

I shall tear down your cities
And break apart all your dwelling places!...

I shall tear your leaders in pieces,
And pour out the blood of your mighty men upon the ground,
Until it reaches unto the neck!

Behold, all mighty and evil men shall be torn in pieces, with their limbs strewn about in the open fields and in the waste places!
Behold, the great army, the astonishing company, the assemblage of nations who have come together to fight against The Holy One of Israel, shall be broken in pieces without hand!... For strong is The Lord, and sharp is the sword which proceeds from His mouth!
Behold I, even I, The Lord of Hosts, shall scrape every last vestige of man and his inventions from the Earth at the last day!... For I am God, and the glory of My strength is revealed in My Holy One!

The glory of men must die!...

Declares The Lord of Hosts, The Only Creator!... The God of Israel!

Yes, I AM HE!... YaHuWaH!

Hurry now, those who hear!
Hurry now, those who know Me!...

Hurry, and kiss The Son!

Hurry now, and kiss Me upon My face,
All you who know My name!...

YahuShua-YaHuWaH!

Thus says The Lord, to the sons and daughters of men: You were brought forth from the dust, yet I gave you a heart of flesh. You were formed in MY image, your body was given life through the breath of The Son... Yet you, My children, have rebelled against Me! You have turned from Me, and run! You run from your own Father, desecrating and destroying all I have given you! Your hearts have grown hard! They are waxed very cold!... A barren wasteland, filled with evil and sin.

Destroy your own houses, and build them upon the sand as you will,
Yet you dare not destroy the light I have given you!...

For it was sculpted delicately, in fragile flesh,
And remains in the image of God...

Alive in The Son, before its very conception.

For it is the fool who says in her heart,“There is no God”, believing she answers only to herself. For she testifies aloud, saying,“It is my body, my choice”... YOU CHOOSE DEATH! Says The Lord. For the child within you is Mine, even as you are Mine also! Your body is not your own!... All belongs to The Lord!

Thus says The Lord: Murder of the innocent leads to the death of the guilty, who carry the innocent within them; take no part in their suicide. For all who do wear equally the guilt of the mother, all seek the penalty of death; from the lawmakers to the voters, to the building owner, to the workers, to the suppliers, to the mother, and finally to the father, if he does not take a stand to protect the helpless and the innocent who are without blame... Behold, they have brought the wrath of God upon their nation, upon their state, and upon all their cities! Calamity upon calamity, until I have laid them waste!

Thus says The Christ, even I who bought you: Whatsoever you have done to the least of these, My children, you have done unto Me... Even so, call upon My name, in all repentance and faith, and you shall surely live and not die. For I had first died for you, and was raised to life so you may be with Me, where I am, and be as I am... Restored in My image.

Know you not, that your body is a temple wherein God’s Spirit may dwell,
According to your faith and acceptance of The Truth...

Or him called satan, according to your lack and rejection thereof?

Fierce is My anger! Hot is My countenance!
My little ones perish in all the earth!...

WHOLE GENERATIONS SLAUGHTERED!...

Multitudes of children murdered day and night, without ceasing!

Therefore have I brought forth, and appointed,
Many days of sorrows for THIS generation, without respite!...

BEHOLD, THE DAY OF THE LORD DRAWS VERY NEAR!...

For bitter anguish fills the heart of The Lord, on account of the wicked!
And He shall surely sweep them from the face of the whole earth!...

Unless they repent and repay ten-fold, for their evil deeds.

Thank you very much for being so candid. I agree with much of or most of what you say. I have a terrible time with the concept of actually aborting though. I could never do it, and I believe that when a woman aborts, it's between her and God. I should not be judgemental when that's not my job. It's just that to ME it's killing someone who in MY OWN belief is absolutely wrong. In my view, God gives life and takes away life, not me. I do though, as you said, believe in education, education, education. Also birth control for anyone who may need it. Having said that, I think todays kids are growing up way too fast. They are having sex before they are able to take responsibility for what happens. I think parents are allowing too many freedoms, and are too willing to let their daughters have birth control "just in case". I don't really "get" the concept of "I'd rather she tell me she intends to have sex" so she can get the help from her mother with procuring birth control. I also don't think parents are selfless enough to put their children first and not let them do and have everything they want in life. All of that combined contributes to the fact that younger and younger kids getting pregnant. They are simply not having a "kid hood" if you will.
