Former US President Bill Clinton dubbed Barack Obama "incompetent" and pressed wife Hillary to quit her job as secretary of state to challenge the incumbent President in the primaries, a new book has claimed.

"The country needs you!" the former president had told Hillary Clinton, urging her to run this year, according to accounts of the conversation included in Edward Klein's new biography of Obama.

Obama, Bill Clinton had said, according to book excerpts, "doesn't know how to be president" and is "incompetent."

The title of Klein's explosive, unauthorised biography of Obama, "The Amateur", was taken directly from Bill Clinton's bombshell criticism of the president, the author said.

"Barack Obama," Bill Clinton said, "is an amateur."

Nothing inspires Democrats like the Barack Obama swagger — the supreme self-confidence on stage, the self-certainty in private. So nothing inspires more angst than when that same Obama stumbles, as he has leaving the gate in 2012.


That’s the unmistakable reality for Democrats since Obama officially launched his re-election campaign three weeks ago. Obama, not Mitt Romney, is the one with the muddled message — and the one who often comes across as baldly political.

Obama, not Romney, is the one facing blowback from his own party on the central issue of the campaign so far And most remarkably, Obama, not Romney, is the one falling behind in fundraising.

To top it off, Vice President Joe Biden has looked more like a distraction this month than the potent working-class weapon Obama needs him to be.

National polls, which had shown Obama with a slight but steady lead over Romney through April, moved into a virtual tie this month.




It's clear now that Romney will attack the Problems and Obama will attack the people.

His campaign press secretary, Ben LaBolt told The Politicker the president has no intention of giving the money back.

Not every Democrat is dumb enough to think Pelosi and Obama care about them. Democratic voters may not admit it due to the vicious outbursts the Left exhibits but they WILL pull the lever for Romney in November. After all, their children's futures depend on it.

Speaking of records...

Obama's (prior to being President) record amounts to that of:

Acting as a (inner city/public assistance) community organizer.

Publishing a book about his black "father" (that abandoned him and his mother when he was very young).

Hanging out with anarchists and communists.

Claiming to be a "college professor" (who fails to understand the unconstitutionality of knowingly and willingly selling illegal assault weapons to drug cartels). Some of these illegal weapons were subsequently used to murder innocent US and Mexican citizens.

Having a record of refusing to release his scholastic records, both during and after his run for the Presidency (just try doing that while you seek employment in the private and non-elected public sector).

Being a long time member of a hate filled and, of course, tax exempt "church".

Becoming a Congressional Black Caucus Senate member in 2005 (even though he's half white) who almost immediately began his run for the Presidency (rather than fulfilling the Senatorial oath of office he swore to uphold).

Accusing one, or more, of the family members who made an effort to care for, and raise, him as "being typically white" (while his black father was typically absent).

Not having "time" to visit his dying mother in Hawaii (yet he, and his family, now have plenty of time for taxpayer funded Hawaiian vacations). Btw, Obama was apparently "too busy" to visit his dying mother because he was helping plan the 1995 Million "Man" March and/or pedaling his "Dreams of my father" (who dumped me) book.

Forget Bain — Obama’s public-equity record is the real scandal

Despite a growing backlash from his fellow Democrats, President Obama has doubled down on his attacks on Mitt Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital. But the strategy could backfire in ways Obama did not anticipate. After all, if Romney’s record in private equity is fair game, then so is Obama’s record in public equity — and that record is not pretty.

Since taking office, Obama has invested billions of taxpayer dollars in private businesses, including as part of his stimulus spending bill. Many of those investments have turned out to be unmitigated disasters — leaving in their wake bankruptcies, layoffs, criminal investigations and taxpayers on the hook for billions. Consider just a few examples of Obama’s public equity failures:


1) Raser Technologies. In 2010, the Obama administration gave Raser a $33 million taxpayer-funded grant to build a power plant in Beaver Creek, Utah. According to the Wall Street Journal, after burning through our tax dollars, the company filed for bankruptcy protection in 2012. The plant now has fewer than 10 employees, and Raser owes $1.5 million in back taxes.

2) ECOtality. The Obama administration gave ECOtality $126.2 million in taxpayer money in 2009 for, among other things, the installation of 14,000 electric car chargers in five states. Obama even hosted the company’s president, Don Karner, in the first lady’s box during the 2010 State of the Union address as an example of a stimulus success story. According to ECOtality’s own SEC filings, the company has since incurred more than $45 million in losses and has told the federal government,“We may not achieve or sustain profitability on a quarterly or annual basis in the future.”

Worse, according to CBS News the company is “under investigation for insider trading,”

3) Nevada Geothermal Power (NGP). The Obama administration gave NGP a $98.5 million taxpayer loan guarantee in 2010. The New York Times reported last October that the company is in “financial turmoil” and that “[a]fter a series of technical missteps that are draining Nevada Geothermal’s cash reserves, its own auditor concluded in a filing released last week that there was ‘significant doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.’&#8201;”


4) First Solar. The Obama administration provided First Solar with more than $3 billion in loan guarantees for power plants in Arizona and California. According to a Bloomberg Businessweek report last week, the company “fell to a record low in Nasdaq Stock Market trading May 4 after reporting $401 million in restructuring costs tied to firing 30 percent of its workforce.”


5) Abound Solar, Inc. The Obama administration gave Abound Solar a $400 million loan guarantee to build photovoltaic panel factories. According to Forbes, in February the company halted production and laid off 180 employees.

6) Beacon Power. The Obama administration gave Beacon — a green-energy storage company — a $43 million loan guarantee. According to CBS News, at the time of the loan,“Standard and Poor’s had confidentially given the project a dismal outlook of ‘CCC-plus.’” In the fall of 2011, Beacon received a delisting notice from Nasdaq and filed for bankruptcy.


7) SunPower got a $1.2 billion loan guarantee from the Obama administration, and as of January, the company owed more than it was worth.


8) Brightsource got a $1.6 billion loan guarantee and posted a string of net losses totaling $177 million.


9) Solyndra — the solar panel manufacturer that received $535 million in taxpayer-funded loan guarantees and went bankrupt, leaving taxpayers on the hook.
