Sounds like racist hate speach to me.

This whole thing, the World Trade Center attack, it appears, was the result of Slick Willy's half-assed 1998 cowardly attack on Bin Ladin's camp in Afghanistan. That ILLEGAL attack became THE great motivator and enlistment tool for Bin Ladin's terrorist group. Clinton's aggressively overt attack on a friendly, sovereign nation - without warning - was the defining reason for the 9/11 attack. Does that sound about right Bigmouth? One more thing, this small bit at the end of your "source": "We have NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORROBORATE some of the more sensational threat reporting such as that from a ---------service in 1998 saying that Bin Ladin wanted to hijack a US aircraft...."

And I remember the massive expansion of taxpayers' dollars flowing into the massive research efforts that flowed into the sciences that directly lead to the many innovations that lead to the landing on the moon, the computer revolution, etc. I am too young to remember the early governmental efforts that made the interstate system possible, I sure know the before and after results. And I stand by my comment: The hell the government didn't give them anything! The government gave them an education and educated workforce. The government gave them technology that makes all business more productive. The government gave the limited liability protection and a court system to enforce contracts. The government gives them security. The government gives them a safer environment (although the right-wingers are trying to destroy it.) The government gives them a transpiration system ave them highways to move their goods. You think Bill Gates could have succeeded if the government research had not developed the computer technology" Or if AL Gore and the government had not invented the internet?

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.[Congress thus inhibited from acts respecting religion, and the Executive authorised only to execute their acts, I have refrained from prescribing even those occasional performances of devotion, practiced indeed by the Executive of another nation as the legal head of its church, but subject here, as religious exercises only to the voluntary regulations and discipline of each respective sect.] Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties. I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association assurances of my high respect & esteem. (signed) Thomas Jefferson Jan.1.1802. You don't have to tilt your head and squint your eyes to understand what Jefferson meant, and how it relates to the First Amendment. I submitted this on post 1522..and someone marked as SPAM. Too funny. Jefferson's letter of separation to the church, WORD FOR WORD. The right-wing non-thinkers on the forum either can't read or can't think. Last year Rick Perry supported efforts in his state to re-write public school textbooks to omit references in American history that don't support the conservative agenda, including Jefferson's letter of separation. I don't like using words like stupid, moron or idiot..but it's hard to describe modern the republican party without using them.

Al Qaeda grew exponentially after the 1998 attack and became the global threat that eventually "got even". If only Clinton had tried diplomacy, the whole sordid mess would have been averted. ..and a good day to you.

Nice try, but the point of this debate was whether of not 9 months before the attack did Richard Clarke inform the Bush White House of the dangers of Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. Congressional Testimony, along with that copy of the National Security Memo says he was well informed of the intentions of Al Qaeda as of Jan 25, 2001. The point is that Bush was advised, and choose to ignore the warnings. On Sept 11, 2001 he Snoozed and the result was the largest attack on America since Pearl Harbor. mdbuilder wrote: <quoted text> You are a useless idiot.
