Yes show us where the four corners on a circle are. Can you also show us where the pillars are? See cherry picking and projecting what you think on the bible isn't very smart. wolverine wrote: <quoted text> Again...For The Biblically Challenged. Few people might be aware of this: There are passages in the Bible that coincide with scientific principles that weren't discovered by scientists until hundreds of years after the Bible had been written. Here are some examples: Source: http://www.bible.ca/b-science-evidences.htm 1. The Bible said the earth is round and is suspended in space: The earth is round! You may be surprised to learn that the Bible revealed that the earth is round. Job 26:10, Prov 8:27, Isaiah 40:22, Amos 9:6. Today, we chuckle at the people of the fifteenth century who feared sailing because they thought they would fall over the edge of the flat earth. Yet the Bible revealed the truth in 1000 B.C. 2500 years before man discovered it for himself! In various verses, the Bible says the earth is round and hangs in space. It took a long time for science to catch up and reach the same conclusions. Copernicus made the discovery in 1475. But the Bible always knew. Here are two related Bible verses that were written more than 2500 years ago, and more than 1000 years before Copernicus: "He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth..." (Isaiah 40:22,NIV).(By the way, the Hebrew language at that time did not have a word for "sphere," only for "circle.")

You should hate to do it because I am about to slit your throat on this. I have indeed read this and other so called passages that people project themselves on because it sounds kinda true-ish. Firstly I notice you accidently left some of it out. Oops right? Allow me to correct that. Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sits on the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in: Hmmm so heaven drapes down like a tent and he in looking down at them. But what about the people on the opposite end of the earth?Isaiah 40:22 describes God as seated on the zenith, the highest point directly overhead. Thus the verse implies that earth's dwellers, all mankind according to Psalm 33:13, 14, are clearly visible from a very high point directly overhead. This imagery fits most naturally the conception of the earth below as a flat disc, not a globe. For if the earth were a globe, part of all mankind namely earth's dwellers in Australia, Argentina, South Africa, etc could not be seen from a point directly overhead. Now let's get to b!tch slapping the taste out of your argument's mouth shall we? Job 37:33 He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth..... Does lightning go around the earth in circles? Job 38:44 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? For a sphere shouldn't that have been around it?? Job 38:13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? Say what? Where are the ends on a sphere? Psalm 104:5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. Guess the earth doesn't rotate! lol Daniel 4:11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the ENDS OF ALL THE EARTH: Getting bad now shall I stop? Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. ouch Job 9:6 He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. Yes those pesky pillars again. I can go on and on but that would be spiking the football. wolverine wrote: <quoted text> I Hate To Call You Stupid.....But Did You Read The Verse ? "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:" Isaiah 40:22. And the heavens are almost 100% empty space, they are nothing like a curtain nor tent.

You weren't the one I asked the original question of. Perhaps you failed to notice that. wolverine wrote: Dont Go There.....You Have Made A Living Interupting Others Conversations. There is no "interruption of conversations" on Topix. Topix is not a place for private conversations. It is a message board, on which anyone can post anything at any time. If you want a private conversation, you can take your conversation to email, where you can assure yourself of no interruptions. But, as usual, you missed the point. The point was that the original poster made a comment indicating that he didn't understand something that would have been obvious to him if he had actually read the article that formed the basis of the thread. When I pointed that out to him, your response was irrelevant, since it didn't change the fact that the original poster was still clueless. So I guess you chose to stick your nose in in order to point out to everyone that you're as clueless as the original poster. Good job. You succeeded.

So, Wolverine has read the original text too, to compare it with the current text? Something tells me he's lying, or else he would have noticed the MASSIVE AMOUNTS of editing mankind has done to the original Holy Bible, so that it would fit in properly with what was wanted of it. Like when King James removed nearly 90% of every point which directly insulted and berated the monarch ruling system, therein we formed the King James Bible. Or when Constantine of Rome along with the Senate of Rome decided that people needed something more than just another prophet of God, and decided to make Jesus the son of their God. Maybe he even noticed the part where Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. I'll use something he said earlier to further validate that point. Mary was Jesus "companion", in Hebrew the word for Companion - when referencing a man and a woman, meant something completely different. What did it mean, you might ask? It meant wife and/or husband. Furtermore, to be so moronic as to take everything the bible says as something LITERAL is beyond ignorant. The Bible is prose, written in verse and used as a metaphorical abstraction of life and morality. As a tool for helping younger children understand ethical, moral behavior it's a good book. As something to model your entire life on, vehemently believing in this supposed existence of a divine being without any type of proof of its existence, it's just hogwash.

Blah, Blah, Blah......Try Using The Hebrew And Jewish Texts To Compare The 1612 King James Version....Seems To Be Quite Accurate. You Say Not Literal....Yet Commandments Were Given From Gods Finger In Stone. Yes Its A Great Book Used To Show How To Live, But It Also Carries The Message Of Hope Of Escape From This Lucifer Led Earth. There Is More Written Evidence Supporting Creation And The Life Of Jesus In The Last 6,000 Years, Then All The Scientific Gibberish To Try To Discredit The Fact. You Chose To Overlook And Discount It.....Thats Your Problem " So It Is Written, So It Shall Be Done "
