And yet you do it all the time. Any time something disagrees with the concept of manmade global warming is something you ignore. The funny thing is the past tells us one and all that for last ten thousand years we have seen far more dramatic climate changes. Continental ice sheets have retreated and will disappear with the only the evidence of their existence to tell the tale. River valleys and canyons that were mammoths once grazed and saber tooth tigers once hunted are now the home of swordfish and whales and the resting place of shipwrecks that were old when George Washington was in diapers. What past climate change tells us that those who still believe that alarmist suffer from a case of hubris.

Of course to you solar events are irelvenant since man cannot control solar events. You cannot use solar events to convince people to change, to give up those gas powered vehicles. The fact that the average person lives to far from where they shop and work to far for a bike, cannot use a ten speed to haul home the groceries. According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne the temperature dipped to 64 degrees at Orlando International Airport, shattering the previous record of 66 set in 1920. Over the past few years, daily record high temperatures have been outpacing daily record lows by 2-to-1 on average, according to the website Climate Central. A 2009 study found that if the climate were not warming, that ratio would be expected to be even. So far this year, there have been 40,113 high temperature records set or tied, compared with just 5,835 cold records, a ratio of about 7-to-1. CHECKMATE!

Soros funded NPR wrote: Eastern Europeans resourceful in face of record cold snap Eastern Europe's cold snap has brought temperatures to 100-year lows in some places, but in many places, the buses are still running and people have plenty of canned goods. By Andrew MacDowall, Correspondent / February 3, 2012. News of shocking death toll and whole regions shut off from the rest of the world by snow and closed roads and railways have dominated headlines from Eastern Europe in recent days. But even as officials struggle to respond to extreme temperatures, many people are forging ahead with daily life, fortified by years of experience and hot drinks. Temperatures have hit 100-year lows in some parts of the region, nearing minus-25 degrees F., well below the usual level. The death toll across the region now tops 200 – roughly 30 in Poland, 22 in Romania, at least 10 in Bulgaria, and more than 160 in Ukraine, where many people reportedly froze to death on the streets. In Serbia, almost 12,000 people are said to be isolated, trapped in remote villages and farmsteads. In Romania, trains and flights have been cancelled....... Excellent post. Brilliant reminder of why an 8.6 degree rise in temperatures for the US during March can and often does result in a small, incremental increase in the world average temperature. This serves to remind us why each 0.01 degree increase is important and possibly destructive.

Global Climate Change is a fact. Global Warming is a fact dependent upon the time frame one is talking about. Such warming has been a good thing, IMO. As it was mentioned earlier on this thread... Global warming has been happening for quite sometime. In fact if you were reading this post 14000 years ago you would be doing it under 4000 feet of ice and snow. So it appears the average increase in global temperature has had a net positive impact. The Twin Cities seems to be doing rather well. Look up on your way to class and and you will likely see a Red Tail Hawk or a North American Bald Eagle flying over Coffman Union... and that is good. The temp for today MAY reach 100... which is not at all unusual for this time of year. The environment may not be just like the Mall of America's but it has been rather pleasant in the recent past. Good luck with your studies, -koolaid post script: Life is Carbon.
