On Aug. 2, Mitt Romney enlisted some of the nation’s best-known Republican governors to praise Romney’s single term as governor of Massachusetts. One by one, they insisted America needs to elect a governor this fall, and that Romney fits the bill. But the apparent plan to use Romney’s bona fides from his term as governor hit a major snag this week when the campaign brought up Romney’s signature health care law, to conservatives’ horror. http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/08/rom...

Franciscans Call for Gov. Romney to Speak with Greater Dignity for the Poor Ask Gov. Romney and Rep. Ryan to Spend Time with the Poor in Milwaukee WASHINGTON, DC — August 8, 2012 — The Franciscan Action Network (FAN), an organization of Franciscan friars and sisters and lay Franciscans, is disturbed by the demeaning campaign ad and conversation about welfare by the Romney campaign. Franciscans, and Christians everywhere, follow Jesus who came to "preach good news to the poor" (Luke 4:18). Our Christian tradition teaches that we are to treat the poor with dignity and to prioritize the poor in our policies as a society. At a time when millions are struggling financially, it is degrading to talk about the “dependency” of people hurting in this economy, as Gov. Romney did recently. Beyond these messages, the deeper problem is the budget proposed by Rep. Paul Ryan and supported by Gov. Romney. This proposal balances the budget on the backs of the poor with cuts to Medicaid, Head Start, Pell Grants and other vital programs. Patrick Carolan, Executive Director of FAN said, "With the political conversation now on ensuring that low-income people are working, the most blatant affront is that the Romney-Ryan Budget actually cuts job training programs for low-income people." The Campaign to Invest in America’s Workforce (CIAW) estimates that the Ryan Budget would cut funding for education and job training programs by more than $16 billion (22 percent), including for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) programs.[1] Franciscans ask that both rhetoric and policy be made more just and dignified for all Americans, as well as the poor around the world. Franciscan friar Fr. Joe Nangle, OFM, said, "We ask our political leaders to not sow hatred of the poor, but to speak with compassion. Our national leaders should aim to follow the spirit of The Prayer of St. Francis, which is loved by people of all faiths: http://www.franciscanaction.org/

If he takes Florida, then possibly Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire and Colorado we are in landslide territory. Expect the Romney attacks to get more vicious as full desperation sets in.

Even Fox news is throwing in the towel! Mitt Romney has had a tough couple of weeks on the campaign trail -- and it shows in the latest Fox News poll. After a barrage of campaign ads, negative news coverage of his overseas trip and ongoing talk about his tax returns, Romney’s favorable rating and standing in the trial ballot have declined. As a result, President Obama has opened his biggest lead since Romney became the presumptive Republican nominee. The president would take 49 percent of the vote compared to Romney's 40 percent in a head-to-head matchup if the election were held today, the poll found. Last month, Obama had a four percentage-point edge of 45 percent to 41 percent. This marks the second time this year the president has had a lead outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. Obama’s advantage comes largely from increased support among independents, who now pick him over Romney by 11 percentage points. Some 30 percent of independents are undecided. Last month, Obama had a four-point edge among independents, while Romney had the advantage from April through early June. There was also an uptick in support for Obama among women, blacks and Democrats. Four voters in 10 say they are “extremely†interested in the race. Among just those voters, the candidates are tied at 48 percent each. Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/08/09/fo...

Two interesting and important things to note: 1) Gerald R. Molen, producer of "Schindler's List" had his facts straight and produced an accurate depiction of those facts, truths in that movie. It is essentially crucial Molen held to this standard when producing "2016". 2) "2016" is a strong indicator, IMO, Obama will win Election 2012 since "2016" is about in what condition will Obama hand off American in that year. Nostrilis Waxman wrote: Defenitely going to see this just released movie and now playing in theaters: 2016 (Love him, hate him - You don't know him) http://2016themovie.com/ It's about Obama's vision to punish America contasted with us patriots who do not hate America and know Obama is Anti-American. The timing is great. The corrupt liberal media hid the truth about this jerk Obama four years ago.

Why Mitt Romney is losing Romney's failure to surpass Barack Obama this summer stems in no small part from his reluctance to make any bold moves on policy, and this reluctance is a direct product of the beating he's taken from conservative critics for much of the last year. http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/09/opinion/salam-r...
