These deniers don't understand the facts. They appear to expect some new climate inventions like dinosaur rain or such. They don't acknowledge that global climate already is extraordinary. That would be against their religion.. denialism.

So far, 2012 has averaged 2.8C above the mean for the 1960-2012 period. The current warmest year on record is 1998 at +1.8C above the mean. The annual water temperature has been increasing at 0.29C per decade since 1960.

Perhaps more stunning is the decrease in number of days with a water temperature of 32F during that period. These readings are taken 35' below the surface, so when the surface is covered or substantially covered in ice, the water temperature is usually 32. The chart shows that the annual number of 32F readings has been decreasing at a rate of over 1 day per year! In recent years, the rate of change appears to be increasing. Both 2012 and 1998 had 0 such days, while 2002 had just one. By contrast, 1964 had 139 days, and 1971 138 days.

These graphics show an umistakable warming of the Lake Erie climate system. As the region continues to experience warming, winter ice coverage will continue its marked decline. The decrease in ice cover will itself greatly affect the climate of surrounding areas. This will be accomplished by two means:(1) the warmer, open waters will better modify arctic airmasses moving southeast from Canada; and (2) the warmer, open waters will contribute to increased cloudiness & precipitation, which will make conditions less favorable for extreme cold.

Our new peer-reviewed study, published by the National Academy of Sciences, makes clear that while average global temperature has been steadily rising due to a warming climate (up about 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit in the past century), the extremes are actually becoming much more frequent and more intense worldwide.

When we plotted the world’s changing temperatures on a bell curve, the extremes of unusually cool and, even more, the extremes of unusually hot are being altered so they are becoming both more common and more severe.

Well, the fake skeptics will be overjoyed that the alarmist Hansen has finally admitted that he was wrong.

They'll also probably fail to note that his doom and gloom scenario was just too rosy.

USA is facing challenge not just in sports, but in economics and social living as well (like standard of living and efficiency of a society).
Britain seems to do fine , hanging out there at this time in Olympics, however it will be economic devastating after, as some part of London looks really like a ghost town. While USA and Australia usually get over 25%, 40% respectively in their total medals in swimming, they will be facing risks once they fall in medals in swimming in future Olympics. However, Australia seems to have a breakthrough in track and field while Sally Pearson broke the record in 100M hurdle. Therefore Australia is still a viable competitor than USA in future challenge.
By rating performance per GDP and per population, Canada, as a G8 nation, really does poorly in London Olympics, compared to countries like Netherlands, Hungary, New Zealand,Ukraine, Romania, Islamic Republic of Iran,Belarus, Denmark, Poland.
As Austalian PM said that USA is declining, and many parts of the world see USA going downhill Including the British), both Bush and Obama have done flourishing--not just by outsourcing to polish the building of China's economics, to make the upclimbing of China. However, China is being challenged by others, as it has reached its plateau-surge to this time. The world sees others upclimbing while USA falls and China can no longer go much further.
Amazingly, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland , Netherlands and other Scandanavian countries do well in the best stand in the standard of living as most G7 countries having their people in big debts, cannot hang in there.
The so much destruction and harms done by Bush and Obama, have also hampered the mentality and mind-set of the American people. It does look that US people are facing much trouble ahead, not just in economics. This demonstrates USA people lack the social awareness , intelligence and fact findings about this new changing world.
It is a new age planet, while there can be a lot of different things happening around the world, that people do not know.

The world turns...years ago, we surpassed the 'global warming' issue....the damage is done. Now, we'll deal with the issues. The industrial revolution pretty much set the stage, put us on the 'fast track'...in the interim, do what you can to preserve, but, the bigger picture? There's nothing you can do to change what is to be. Millions of years of history are there for our study...it's been 'speeded up' because of our abuse of the atmosphere but, it would happen no matter...politics, country preference, citizenship..the world turns, what starts in other countries ends up here, etc. The 'ice-age' will come again. It's already happening. The 'melt' of the polars...raising the sea level..etc. The planet evolution has nothing to do with politics...sorry bubba...if you're basing your election on that....you'll need to wait a couple of thousand years...

In more than 117 years of records, July 2012 stands alone as not only the hottest July on record in the lower 48 United States, but also the hottest of any month on record in that time span. To put it another way, July 2012 was the hottest of more than 1,400 months that we've gone through since 1895.

The report released by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on Wednesday says that July 2012 surpassed the previous record hottest month set in July 1936. That year was during the middle of the very dry and hot Dust Bowl era. Senior Meteorologist Stu Ostro (Twitter) says, "Exceeding July 1936 at the peak of the Dust Bowl heat -- is BIG."

July 2012 was 3.3 degrees above the 20th century average. Ostro puts this in perspective, "While three degrees might not seem like much because temperatures can vary a lot more than that from day to day, it’s significant when averaged over a whole month, and particularly so in the summer when temperatures typically have less variation than at other times of year.”

A total of 32 states had a top ten warmest July. Among those, Virginia recorded its hottest July on record and seven more states recorded their second hottest July (North Carolina, Kentucky, Delaware, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming).

The Eco-Tyrants: the Real Invasive Species, the True Useless Eaters. The Unseen Threat Exposed

They will lie, cheat and even steal. They will destroy people’s characters and attack industry using slander if they can get away with it. They will even murder if necessary any one who stands in their way.

They do not care how many people they impoverish and harm. They think they know better how to run our lives and think they have this right to dominate other people. They are not people who live by example showing how to live efficiently with non polluting ways having a better lifestyle. Prince Charles tells his people to do without hot baths saying we have to do with less while he has many mansions, palaces, planes, trains and yachts. Al Gore says we have to reduce our carbon footprint by cutting back on electricity use while he has multiple mansions that are power pigs.

They are authoritarians who do not want to govern, they want to rule over us. They do not seek the benefit society as a whole. They pursue power to dominate. They do not want to mind there own business, they want to be in ours. They do not believe in "Live and Let Live”. They want to put a boot to our faces in the name of saving mother earth...

Thanks to a record warm January-to-June period and intense, long-lasting heat waves during March, June, and July, the U.S. has passed an ominous milestone: with about five months remaining in the year, there have already been more record daily high temperatures set or tied so far this year than were set or tied during all of 2011. And 2011 had the second-warmest summer on record for the lower 48 states.

According to Guy Walton of The Weather Channel, who compiles temperature record statistics using data from the National Climatic Data Center, there were 26,674 daily record highs broken or tied during 2011, and through August 5 there were 27,042 records broken or tied this year. The March and July heat waves clearly gave 2012 the edge over last year. During March alone, 7,755 daily records were set or tied, and 4,420 records were broken or tied during July.

Bottom line, record...scientific research...the process was set in place...years ago. We can't turn back the hands of time....But, we can evade some expectations by performing our ability to recycle. We can't stop the world turning, nor can we stop the inevitable cycle of events. The world will go on. Just as it has for millions of years. What can we do? Not much. The damage is already done. Future? Recycle....save energy. The 'global warming' issue? Done deal. No matter what you do....The earth turns, the moon orbits...etc...the earth will follow it's path...We're on it...ride it out....do what you can. In the interim? There's not much to avoid ...

I've recycled everything possible since the 1940s, never wasted water or energy.
I'm kind to animals, insects and I'm eco friendly.
I believe that global warming is occurring and that mankind is possibly responsible for a tiny amount.
But: I'm sceptical of the power of CO2 and AGW as a threat to civilisation, so I'm called (amongst other things) a denier, work that one out if you can?

Yeah, I can work it out. You're an idiot to call yourself anything but a dumb arse denier . All one has to do is google CO2 and mass extinctions to realize the power of CO2. Google also the predictions of the effect of a 5 deg C temp rise from our current level to understand the impact that would have on humans. Finally google the rise in man generated CO2 and temp rise to see the connection.
You will say you have done all those things, and I'm sure you have. So after doing that, you still say the right things that dumb arse deniers say. Ergo, you are not a skeptic, you are a denier of the actual scientific research and studies that experts in the field have done; a dumb arse denier.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Taurus

Try hard not to let money or possessions come between you and a friend today, unless it's over something that has got to be sorted out before it goes any further. For instance, if someone owes you money and has consistently failed to pay it back, this is a good day for mentioning it to them and finding out what's going on. If necessary, you may have to be quite vehement.
