Gold will be useless for barter. I bought 1 ounce bars of silver for trade. Bury food and clothing items near by along with guns and ammo. Tell nobody except those you will be teamed up with. I am a little late but I just purchased a piece of property to bug out to. I will start building on it next month. Will make a nice fishing camp if things don't go to hell.
