Rome is in Italy, Wright spoke of the Romans oppressing and enslaving Jesus people. He said the Romans/Italians turned their noses up to Jesus and his people. Yet he said they turned their garlic noses up to Jesus and his people, seeing how Romans loved garlic. See blacks can't even talk about the Romans, the people who oppressed Jesus and his people. Why? Because the Romans were white and speaking of white people oppressing people somehow makes you Racist...No racism is the belief your race is superior then another race and has the right to rule over them. This is what the Romans believed and Europeans believed when they first went to Africa and America. Speaking they truth is not racist!!!

Why is it so important what Obama's former pastor talks about in regards to the election??? If Obama had no ties to the church, would his comments even be news worthy? NO! Some shooting would take preference, or some other death. Why does the media have to influence people's decisions, I could careless what his pastor says or said, Obama is Obama because he is his own person. And Hilary is slimy scum just like Bill, the country's true colors are coming out with the election...racism, hatred, fear of change. And the real problem with Rev Wright's comments is that people hate the truth when it is something they do not want to hear, but if you agree with the truth, you like it...the truth is the truth however you slice it and people don't like his statements because they are TRUE and no one wants to admit it.
to sin by silence makes cowards of men. Abe lincoln Obama will never, ever get my vote. He has disqualified himself, and disgraced himself and shed bad light on black churches to say the least.

Just another example of condoning Wright hate mongering sermons for the past 20 years. Obama is a hypocrite, double. Because now he said he would have left that church had Wright not retired. Yeah, now he says this after Clinton said she would have walked out on that pastor. How many times is Obama going to piggy back off Hillary's answers. What a copy cat he is. He has no original ideas of his own.

Letters of Support for Rev. Wright from Hillary’s former Church and Religion Scholar

Have there been a lot of major Christian leaders who have actually thrown Wright under the bus? I haven’t heard of many and I didn’t think there would be many. That’s why I wasn’t surprised about Mike Huckabee’s response. Most of these ministers are well aware of Wright and his work.

The pastor of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s church when they lived in Washington, DC writes:

The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times. He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. He has been a vocal critic of the racism, sexism and homophobia which still tarnish the American dream. To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence. Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize. This is a critical time in America’s history as we seek to repent of our racism. No matter which candidates prevail, let us use this time to listen again to one another and not to distort one another’s truth.

"One America"

"The greatest challenge we face is also our greatest opportunity. Can we fulfill the promise of America by embracing all our citizens of all races? Can we become one America in the 21st century? Money cannot buy this goal, power cannot compel it, technology cannot create it. This is something that can come only from the human spirit." [President Bill Clinton, 1997]

"Forty years ago, a single image first seared the heart and stirred the conscience of our nation. Elizabeth Eckford walked through this door for her first day of school, utterly alone. She was turned away by people who were afraid of change, instructed by ignorance, hating what they simply could not understand. And America saw her haunted and taunted for the simple color of her skin. And in the image, we caught a very disturbing glimpse of ourselves." [President Bill Clinton, 1997]

"Historical events become convenient excuses for those who want to drive people apart instead of bringing them together. One of the problems is that you can win a lot of arguments, yet you look in people's eyes and you see that you haven't changed them. There is something still being held back, some core you haven't touched." [President Bill Clinton, 1998]

"The ideals that bind us together are as old as our nation, but so are the forces that pull us apart" [President Bill Clinton, 1997]

Adults should bite thier tongues before passing on old prejudices [Sen. Hillary Clinton, 1997]

Until Justice is the same for every human being, whether he or she is black or white, we will deal with it. Until the same rules apply to get a bank loan for every person regardless of who he or she is, we will deal with it. As long as there are whites who turn around and see a black person coming and bring fear to their hearts, we will deal with it. And as long as there are blacks who look and see and have resentment toward a white person, we will deal with it. We will deal with it until the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King lives in all of our hearts, and that is that we will judge people by the character of their hearts and not by the color of their skin. Let me remind us: Government can do some things, but only God can change people's hearts.[Gov. Mike Huckabee, 1997]

Now we hear voices in America arguing that Dr. King's struggle is over -- that we've reached the promised land. Maybe they're just carried away by the arrival of the Millennium. Maybe they are deluding themselves that when the calendar turns to the year 2000, man will be perfected.[Al Gore - 1998]

"These people who now call for the end of policies to promote equal opportunity say there's been so much progress that no more such efforts are justified. But they fail to recognize that tap racism is almost 400 years long." [Al Gore - 1998]

I remembered the well-intentioned remarks of some of my white superior: "Powell, you're the best black lieutenant I've ever known." Thank you, suh. But inside me, I was thinking, if you intend to measure me against only black lieutenants, you are making a mistake. I'm going to show you the best lieutenant in the Army regardless the color, period." [Colin Powell, 1995]

We are a nation of unlimited opportunity and serious unsolved social ills; and we are all in it together.[Colin Powell, 1995]

"If a history of discrimination has made it difficult for certain Americans to meet standards, it is only fair to provide temporary means to help them catch up and compete on equal terms." [Colin Powell, 1995]

Who cares how many times has people said things about another person race etc and nothing is said. That is the reason i stopped watching the news because the media always has to mis report information and make it seem like something is it not. Pastor Wright is a great pastor and a wonderful person maybe if people learned how to mind their own business we wouldn't have the problems we have. But then again stupid people who feed into what the news reports wouldn't have anything else to gossip about if the news didn't report so go figure. And for the record I am a member of Trinity and proud of it. I am also proud of Obama because nothing the media or any other people out there have tried to put out there to make him look bad has work thus far it just goes to show there is a God. And for the record Pastor Wright told the truth and maybe just maybe the truth hurts............

And for the person who had something negative to say about Obama and Pastor Wright I think you are just upset people have been exposed for what they truly are and Pastor Wright as well as Obama were the best two people to make light of a situation that some many White Americans try to brush under the rug. Why is it that Pastor right is such a bad person because he said something about White people and how devious some really are......... Exactly it doesn't feel right when your race is the one being exposed for all of its devious deeds. Know this God has a plan and Pastor Wright's sermons are always thought provoking and they make you think so listen to his sermons in their entirety instead of white media wants you to hear than I bet you would have a different opinion about him. But then again some people are just plain ole stupid and fall for anything........ Go head Pastor Wright I still love him and Obama 08 O boy he is going to win the election and i guarantee this country will be ran way better than it has for the last 400 years know that!

And for the idiot that said he can't vote for Obama after hearing what is pastor said is a coward. Was it Obama who said it or is it just a cop out that White always try and use to validate what they truly feel. Just because he attended a church does not mean he is responisble for everything that goes on there. But you know what God has a plan and that is Obama will win so you take your vote and you cast it how you feel but know this Obama is the only sincere candiate and he doesn't have to mud sling and bring people down in order to do it. There is a lesson to learn from Obama and it is sad that you are so judgemental that you can't see what the media is trying to do but hey that's just how America is people take things others say and use that as an excuse not to use their own brains.......

the TRUTH?? you ass. He is a reverend that made a racial hate speech. Obviously you are BLACK. If the rev. Wright had been white you would be calling for his head. You blacks would stick together no matter what any of you do, you are disgusting.
