It's a good thing then that Congress controls appropriations. If he gets elected, we are just opening the door to more debt.

SgtMaj101: You are right on the kinipopo! If Dan or Dan or Abercrombie or Hirano do not vote with their constituents, they are out-of-touch with their people and need to be removed. How can a Senator or Representative represent 'their people' when they vote contrary to what was a landslide primary mandate for Obama? It could only be interperted as arrogance, spitting in the face of those who voted them into office in the first place. Our government and our elected officials simply MUST support the will of their people! There is no other reasonable choice.

I am a Native American female and an ex-Hillary supporter. The reason I switched is because I realized that I and only I can make a decision for myself and research what information I have been given to make my own determination.
My plea to you all is Please do not let the media distort what is truth, in order to paint a picture of what they feel should and should not be in a country where we all are free to make decisions. Do not rely on what the media presents to you, research for yourselves and make your own decisions, not rely on someone else to make them for you. Reason #1 What You Didn't Hear was- in the complete soundbites of Rev. Wright's Infamous sermon, he spoke about how our government "failed many citizens of this country". How our government unfairly took over the land from the Native Americans and put them on reservations, the Japanese Americans in the days of Hiroshima and Pearl Harbor and the awful way they were treated, as well as the institution of slavery in America. So, in my research, the sermon was essentially taken out of context to focus on Blacks, in order to create a racial issue, as opposed to his text which included the harsh treatment Native Americans and Japanese Americans, which were also mentioned in the same paraphrase. He did not just say "...God D**n America" he actually said "...God D**n America, IF it CONTINUES to mistreat its' citizens", as it relates to the biblical scriptures whereas God expressed His anger to a rebellious nation. Reason #2 Sen. Clinton has changed her tune on several occasions, while fabricating facinating events in order to boost her experience. She first said she has 35 yrs. of experience, then it was a lifetime of experience. She also said at the beginning of her campaign that those of us that could afford health insurance and refused to buy it, she would mandate that our wages be garnished.(speech prior to the Potomac primaries) Reason #3 Sen.Clinton agreed to the rules of the campaign until she lied in her victory speech in Ohio by saying she won the two states that were disqualified, now she blames it on the DNC and Sen. Obama because she needs those numbers to win. The people who should be blamed are the elected officials of those two states. That is essencially why we elect officials, so that they can make decisions for us. They were the ones who agreed to the rules and decided to break them, knowing fully the consequenses of their actions. Why change the rules in the middle of the game? Why would a presidential candidate cheat, in order to win? If she cheats in this game, wouldn't she cheat you of your votes too? |

I don't understand the rationale noted in the article. Since when does 2 wrongs make it right. The Hawaii superdelegates can and should base their votes in parallel with the majority (little people) vote. Must Hawaii always be the follower, instead of leading and showing the nation that the democratic ideal of one person = one vote, can be achieved.
Shame on ourselves if we allow the superdelegates to vote any other way. I will lose faith and respect for our leaders. |
|
I agree completely with Aloha Joe. Since when is it common knowledge that AFTER we elect our Senators/Representatives, they cease to be subject to our views and desires? Since when is it a fact that AFTER they are elected, that their first loyalty is to the party/national leaders verses their constituents? I am from and will always be interested in Hawaii, but at least here in CA, our top democratic leaders stand behind the results of its people. |

Nobody really believes anything they are typing here. If you are an Obama supporter you think the delagate system sux. If you are a Hillary supporter you want a re-count and that the superdelagates have a voice. Wolves in sheeps clothing. All of you!
|
Nah, I'm not voting for either one of them...woof, woof, no wool here! I do think it's amusing to watch the party that tried to count "hanging chads" rationalize waving off the popular vote. |

I am an Obama girl...all the way. McPain just gave a ridiculous speech saying he did not understand the economy or what to do. He is really a moron. I had not known that before.

The MI and FL Votes are far from a dead issue. All Americans deserve a vote and a voice to choose a president. DON"T BE FOOLED... Obama has not swept FL and MI under the rug!!!
Sign this petition and write to the DNCC: How is it that two States in the USA have been disallowed their votes to choose a President of the USA, and that is swept under the rug. This is not an issue of which candidate you support, or which party you are affiliated with. If it could happen to millions of voters in MI and FL, it could happen to you. We should protest to the DNC and here is a petition. This advantages one candidate over another and that candidate has "politely" come up with every reason not to allow millions of people and hundreds of delegates from having a say in this election. Think about it... if it could happen today, it could happen tomorrow to you, and people are not always who they claim to be be, and won't always do what they claim to do. This is scary. SPEAK OUT! Let Florida and Michigan Democratic Voters Vote! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/hey-dnc-coun... FL & MI Citizens Deserve a Democratic Vote to Choose a President Twenty-Fourth Amendment (1964) promises: The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election... shall not be denied or abridged... If you want to protect the right under the constitution for all people to vote, PLEASE SIGN PETITION and Forward to your friends: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/let-florida-... I have also written the DNCC to Protest at: http://www.democrats.org/page/s/contactissues |

Makawao Bill: you simply read and interpert what you want to hear. You appear to be very biased and trying to create a cloud of FUD. What I read is that most of us simply believe that the Hawaii SuperDs should reflect the voice of their people. PERIOD. Cass: Forget about Fl or MI, that is their problem. Our issue is that our elected delegation should simply be supportive of the people who voted them in. What is so hard to understand about this simple concept?? |

Well let me ask you then...Hillary or Obama? |
Actually I meant every word of it Bill. And I'm not a Democrat. |
|
Perhaps the real issue is the presence of the superdelegates at all. |
|
|
I will vote for Obama..we all will. McPain is too old and too dangerous.

FL & MI is everyone's problem. DON"T BE FOOLED. This is far from a dead issue because if their votes can be taken away, so can yours. Obama supporters want you to forget it... but it's unconstitutional -- this is everyones problem, and it is a way Obama is cheating!!!
IGNORE OBAMA SUPPORTERS WHO THINK THEY CAN SWEEP THIS UNDER THE RUG TO INFLATE OBAMA -- Not true my friends. Twenty-Fourth Amendment (1964) promises: The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election... shall not be denied or abridged... Let Florida and Michigan Democratic Voters Vote! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/hey-dnc-coun... The bitter controversy over the Democratic Party's super-delegates is extremely revealing, probably more so than most people realize. It shows that Democratic voters do not trust the leaders of their party to abide by the will of the voters. If this is the view many Democrats have of their party's leadership, why should independent voters or cross-over Republicans ever consider voting for the Democratic nominee for President come November? If Democratic voters don't trust their party's leaders, why should anyone else trust them?

Makawao Bill...your bias is showing.
Time for a change. The Democratic Party underestimates voters. It used to be a party of followers who followed shibai man on blind faith...now...voters are following their own consciences; not those of scoundrels. Auwae!!! Shibai! The Democratic 'machine' has been found out; Voters are more and more sophisticated. Pardon me! Isn't the Democratic Party supposed to be democratic? If so, why are Shibai man et al trying to manipulate the election? |

Cass says: "Twenty-Fourth Amendment (1964) promises: The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election... shall not be denied or abridged..."
Cass must be from Flori-duh even if posting from Calif. The 24th Amendment repeals the poll tax and says very explicitly that the right to vote in an election cannot be denied on the basis of failing to pay such a tax. Next time try reading and citing the WHOLE text, not just the part you want to use in order to mislead people. |

Political correctness or political reality? Which way will the dems go? Choose victory or political arrested development? Shall the heart rule over the head?
I foresee the truth. Believe in reality. Reject false fantasies. Hold the hand of one who knows. |

"will vote for Obama..we all will. McPain is too old and too dangerous."
It's comment precisely like this, and the fact that Obama is not who he claims to be, that Super Delegates should vote based on who they think can win, and in their best judgement. Hitler promised change, and all the youth were behind him, and he brought change. |
