Nobody has heard as much as a peep, burp, or fart out of Rudi Julie Annie but soon he'll throw his support to Senator John McCan't.

Pork?

Pork is only $30 billion out of the $3 trillion budget.

Not so. Obama's chief financial adviser spotted the housing/credit crunch coming in 2001 and wrote an article warning about it in one of the business magazines. Clinton's adviser, Robert Rubin, sat on the board of Citi and headed Countrywide while laughing all the way to the bank.

There are differences. Check out the people around the candidates and you'll see.

Obama won't spend us into oblivion. In fact, Obama wants to go out and get a lot of the money spent on Iraq back from the Iraqis.
He also wants to cut a lot of the 'pork barrel' projects just like McCain does, something that I think both of them are right on the money in doing.
He also want to rescind the Republican tax cuts, in order to get that money back and give it to the people who REALLY need it, the ones making under 100,000 a year.

And you are going to believe that a KNOWN Republican shill is going to be non-biased in this regard? What world are you living on!

Most of the 'pork' the Democrats are accused of putting into budgets are for programs that their constituents asked for them to put into the budget. That isn't 'pork': that is doing their JOB as a representative of their states.

Seeking to explain his shift to the left on economic issues, McCain claimed:“I didn’t pay nearly the attention to those issues in the past. I was probably a ’supply-sider’ based on the fact that I really didn’t jump into the issue.”[Jan. 2000]

–“I’m going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated.”[Nov. 2005]

–“The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should,” but “I’ve got Greenspan’s book.”[Dec. 2007]

"I'm going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated," McCain told the Wall Street Journal in late November.

In December he said, "The issue of economics is not something I've understood as well as I should," as the Globe reported on its "Political Intelligence" blog at the time.

On at least one occasion, McCain has raised the matter himself. On Nov. 10, while traveling through New Hampshire on his Straight Talk Express bus, McCain was asked what he would seek in a vice presidential candidate if nominated.

After mentioning the ability of a potential running mate to replace the president, McCain said, "You also look for people who maybe have talents you don't, or experience or knowledge you don't, as well."

"What are those qualities that you don't - that you wouldn't mind complementing?" asked David Brooks, a columnist for The New York Times.

McCain paused. "Uh, maybe I shouldn't say this, but, somebody who's really well grounded in economics," he said.

"I think I understand the fundamentals, I talk to people all the time on economics - it's obviously a vital part of America's future," McCain continued. "But I know there are some people who have literally immersed themselves on issues of economics, how Congress works on it, the tax code, that sort of thing. I would look for that kind of talent not in a vice president but in close advisers."

"They are complicated," McCain said of economic issues, "and I freely admit I am not an economist."

McCain: I am not weak on the economy
Posted: 09:44 PM ET

(CNN)— Republican John McCain brushed aside suggestions the emergence of the economy as an issue on voters' minds could harm his presidential chances.

"I am very well versed in economics," he said during Thursday's presidential debate.“I was there at the Reagan revolution. I was there just after we enacted the first tax cuts and restraints on spending. I was chairman of the commerce committee in the United States Senate, which addresses virtually every economic issues that affects the United States."

What's a billion here and a billion there ?
Soon it may add up to be real money.

PORK is pure unadulterated pandering or legal theft.

Republicans are just as guilty as Dems.

PORK proposals should see the light of day and not be added in the middle of the night. Each should be announced by requesting congress critter and on the record.

McCain is right about spending under mining the GOP. Think Tom DeLay and the K-Street Project. " For Sale " Big Gov't.
As to what he knows about economics as compared to Obamamessiah who knows enough to create class warfare as a tool to get elected.
McCain is open to ideas that is more than one can say about C or O.

The country is up to it's a$$ in debt already so clueless McCain figures he might as well jump on the war profiteering bandwagon.
He's never been his own man in the first place.

Republican Shill? Is that an unbiased opinion, or just more libral garbage?

But, I see. When Republicans do it, its runaway spending. When Democrats do it, it is called "doing their job".

You are worrying about a couple million dollars here and there, when the total federal budget is 2 trillion dollars.

Trillion is 1000 billions.

Billion is 1000 million.

Bajillion is 1000 jillion.

McCain won't challenge Democrat big government programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. He also wants to continue hundreds of billions in Iraq.

I urge all Real Republicans to not vote for McCain. I don't want him controlling the Republican Party. We can have the House and Senate.

Again, so what.

$100 billion in Iraq is a drop in the bucket compared to the 2 or 3 trillion dollars spent every year mostly on entitlements and handouts, which Obama wants to increase. All Democrats want to increase entitlements, its their power base.
