Our countries health system reformed or not is a joke.

But, you are forced to get medicare if you are 65 or older. People who have had decent paying jobs in the past get a percentage of medicare that pays well and covers quite a bit. Those who haven't had decent wages and paid into medicare, don't get quite as good of care as others. Medicare is mosty used in private hospitals. What they(medicare) doesn't pay, the patient has to pay out of pocket. Still, those who don't have any insurance, are coverd under charity or state care and that care is the most basic care. However, if your illegal, the hospitals give you better care than most.

The Democrats and President Obama have responded by putting the nay-sayers and mental cases in their places. Looks like you panty-waists will have to find something else to whine about. I'm not sure I understand the reluctance of some US citizens to accept the idea of Health Care. The idea that it is a socialistic concept seems to fuel the negative rhetoric somewhat; -The roads in the US are "socialist", in that everyone owns them.-The armed forces must be "socialist" as well, in that everyone owns them. -Parks must be "socialist" -Are schools "socialist"? -Public services..."socialist "? I live in Canada and of course we all know that Canada has health care. It works, reasonably well. A older friend of mine in Canada, had open heart surgery last year, he is doing fine, and it cost him nothing except in taxes. One young woman in the US who had complications during birth of her first child who was dinged about $70,000 to set things right. Clue me in, please someone, set me straight; what is the problem?

Just get your head out of the damn sand already! 54% to 56% of the people against the public Health Bill does not give you a majority wanting the health bill. Your math is flawed just as your thinking is. By the time Nov of 2012 gets here, I will be able to let my dog raun for president and even she will beat Obama.

Your friend is very lucky then. There have been numerous Canadians that have had to come to the States to get medical care because your national health care had them posponed for a year to one and a half years before the doctor could even see them. One woman would have died from cancer had she waited that long. Yes, your system is really good.

Please defeat this crazy health care reform now. If this plan is not defeated, many insurance company CEO's may have to sell their homes on the French Riviera AND REDUCE their staff of servants at their other vacation homes to no more than 10 at each house. PLEASE, PLEASE don't let this happen to the insurance company CEO's. Someone needs to stand up for these CEO's. They have worked tirelessly to deny legitimate claims to millions to maintain exorbitant profits for themselves. It is up to us to make sure we keep our insurance premiums as high as possible. If this public option thing passes, we may not be able to offer the insurance companies as much as we have been paying. Please continue the fight to keep our premiums as high as possible so the insurance company CEO's can maintain a quality lifestyle. I demand my right to pay exorbitant fees for minimal coverage.

Not "numerous"....a few. And it is true. But I have never had an issue, and I know of no one, personally who has had a issue. It is rare. No, our system is not perfect but get this; > Everyone gets help, not just a few who can afford it. Read EVERONE! We are systematically improving our Health Care, and it looks like you guys are too. Be happy.

Nothing in it for me one way or another. What is in it for you, if the US didn't get Health Care? Who do you work for? Why does this seem to upset you? What could be your personal motives in this regard? What is in it for you?

I could have insurance, but my employer doesn't pay the janitor much to afford insurance. I have to use the charity hospital. And yes my taxes are used to help defray the costs of my visit. Or they send me a bill and I slowly pay it all off. I pay around 200.00 in taxes every month.

Because there is a clause in there that states people over 65 have to see counselor every 5 years to determine whether they should end their lives sooner than their natural way of leaving this world. And the fact of putting a fine on people who can't afford the governments health care. That's not right. There are just too many odd clauses in the bill that aren't right.

Here's what Yahoo had to say about last night's vote:
"... with Saturday’s vote, Pelosi proved yet again she is the able master of a Democratic Caucus that is enjoying its greatest political and legislative success since at least the beginning of the Clinton administration and arguably since its legislative heyday in the mid-1960s.
"Democrats, including Pelosi, view the push for expanding the government’s role in the health care system as a new plank in the social justice platform constructed with Civil Rights, Voting Rights, open housing and Medicare laws enacted during Lyndon Johnson’s presidency, when Democrats held similar – and at times even larger — majorities in the House."
And this morning's SF Chronicle characterized Pelosi's achievement as "stupendous".(And they didn't even mention the death panels.)
You ain't seen anything yet!!!
