During the 2001 UN-sponsored World Conference against Racism, many African nations demanded an apology-plus other things- from ex-colonial European nations for the role they (European nations) had in promoting the slave trade.

I am not sure why Pennsylvania has been made such a huge test for Obama. It is also a test for Clinton. She needs to move beyond her current base as well. We should not assume that his base will automatically vote for her in the fall. I emphatically will not.
Perhaps Obama is done, but the lingering questions of race and religion are still with us. I find the notion that Obama is a racist quite funny.
Most Americans appear to be far removed from their government. Obama brought back people's interests. I really do not think Hillary's candidacy did this.
I've been voting for 22 years. I think Obama has done a great job. Some of these same people that are commenting here would not even be interested in politics ordinarily. It will be business as usual. This is why people have tuned out everything. Although I've been encouraged to vote since I was a child, I will tune out now. I won't vote at all. I can see why people have tuned out in the past.
Also there is a fear that appears to be overwhelming. It's almost a fear that Obama is going to do something ominous if he becomes President. I'm open to understanding such fear.

I wish the press would not perpetuate the idea that Obama's quest for the nomination - a quest he is well ahead in - is predicated on whether or not he wins PA, when we all know he is far behind Clinton in that State. The press has an obligation to remind the public that this is in fact a Democratic Primary - between two Democrats with similar policies - not the general election. I fail to see the validity of buying into the Clinton's desired interpretation that this is a critical litmus test.

The press should also be reminding the voting public that a) the amount of Republicans cross voting for Clinton with no intent to vote for her in November, has risen dramatically (evidenced in TX, OH and Missi), as a result of the race dragging on past the Republicans deciding on their nominee and b) Obama is effectively being ganged up on by both Republicans and Clinton supporters at this time.

To fail to recognize this and encourage voters to reflect accurately is - in my opinion - a travesty and a disservice to the voting public.

To my knowledge, Rod Parsley is not McCain's pastor. I don't believe Parsley's church is in Arizona or even near Washington. McCain does not go to Hagee's church in Dallas either. Until the endorsement, the two had never met.
That is a lot different with knowing someone for 20 years.

I have never heard Hagee say anything racist. He does condemn homosexuality, abortion, and all the other usual issues. But what does any of that have to do with race?

So true. If you look at the Civil Rights Act of 1964, you see that more Democrats voted against it than Republicans. If it were not for the GOP, that law would have never passed.
I too am a white Republican who is tired of the race card being played by two-faced liberals who have played games with minorities for decades. They talk out of both sides of their mouth, and support social programs that keep black people poor and depedent on the handouts but do not get them out of poverty.
Inner city schools are a disaster, and yet the Democrats are opposed to school vouchers, which most blacks support.
I am reminded of a liberal years ago who said this to me: "As long as they are on welfare, they will vote for us." If that is not a racist statement, then I don't know what is.
The Democrat race-game is finally coming to an end. It is about time.
