I just read on another thread that your daughter goes to MSU. What's she got to say about the game on Monday? Bet the two of you didn't see eye to eye on the issue!

She called me last night right after MSU beat UConn and deep down inside I think she knows UNC is going to win.She just wont admit it. You know how kids are. Of course if MSU would happen to win she will never let me live it down. I really just don't think that's going to happen. UNC has at least 4 or 5 guys that could go pro right now. I don't know if you watched both games yesterday but all these teams are just hungry for this. Evidently though Carolina is just hungrier than the others so far. May they stay hungry until midnight Monday night please!!!!

Lot of folks here have forgotten the "team that would never make it" but showed the world what determination can do. Anyone remember the NC State team of 1983?

The "cardiac pack" beat the #1 ranked Houston Cougars , the Phi Slama Jama team.

No one even gave NC State a chance to even make the tournament . State had lost ten games during the season, and had barely squeaked into the NCAA tournament.

Jimmy Valvano instilled in that team of average players the idea that they could win and win they did.
I see this same kind of attitude in the MSU team, another team that few thought would make it to the finals.

I'll be pulling for the "David's" to show up the Goliath's.

wouldn't be a Carolina thread without a word from the ABC crowd. On paper, the Heels should win but games are not played on paper - see Villanova, 1985 and State, 1983.

The home crowd will give MSU a boost; how long that boost lives depends on Carolina. Talentwise, the Heels have too many weapons, too much maturity, and the nasty taste of coming up short a year ago.

that's how the Pack squeaked in, by winning those 3 games. Otherwise, it was another year in the NIT. ACC history is full of surprise tournament winners, none of whom did very well in the NCAA tournament. Bit touchy, aren't you?

Wasn't there a story a while back that said MSU didn't have what it took to make it to the semi-finals. Well there you go. A team can start off like gangbusters and end the season with nothing. I give MSU credit for a good season. Whoever wins Monday deserves it. That being said,
