I am huge USC fan and I understand Carroll's issue. How about this? Stop losing conference games to unranked opponents! Let's try that strategy for once...Stanford, Washington, Oregon State...all beat USC and lest I forget the 13-9 debacle that was UCLA the year LSU won the NC with two losses in which they gave up over 40 pts each!.

Handle your business on the field and the rest will take care of itself. Florida and Alabama cannot stay #1 and #2...Right now it looks like Texas vs. SEC champ and USC will beat up on the current BIg 12 champion...again. Who is it this year Iowa?

I am going to excuse the U-W loss for a couple of reasons. 1) No Matt Barkley. 2) No Taylor Mays. 3) First Pac-10 game and we have a VERY young team for the most part at key positions. 4) UW is a hostile environment and they had all the bounces go their way in that game.

On the other hand, we're not playing championship caliber football. Do we have the potential? I think so? Are we a National Championship quality team? Objectively-no. But I'd so much like to say yes. It just ain't going to happen. Next year will be much stronger. But we are lacking the superstars (as we did last yr) at positions like running back, wide receivers, and D-line. No one really stands out. McCoy came to play at ND, but McKnight just isn't a superstar, nor are our wide receivers. I'd like to see bigger wide receivers so Barkley can loft it up to them and let them go get it. Our special teams is weak. These are the missing ingredients we need to win a national title. And with every one and their mother gunning for us this season (and every other season)- it's not going to get any easier.

Oregon state should be a cake walk at this point in the season. Than it's Halloween at Autzen. Hopefully it's not too much of a nightmare. Fight on.

I agree with everything you said except this part. Damian Williams is a superstar who will be playing on Sundays, great hands, good speed and runs excellent routes. With SC opening up the playbook more and more for Barkly, your going to see a lot of big plays from Williams, McNight and the others. Fight On !!

I was at a Tavern so I may have not heard it correctly, but I thought I heard the NBC announcers say that it was a Big East officiating crew in ND?

Can anyone confirm that?

C'mon buddy. Not one of those personal fouls SC got was legit.

The late hit on McKnight out-of-bounds was bush league. The ref was standing right there too and no call.

SC got a 15 yarder for a guy flexing his biceps after a sack yet when ND scored a TD and the receiver flexed his forearm to the crowd, nothing was thrown!

Pete, come on you lost to UW that 0-12 last year. Short memory?

Arrogance never fixed anything.

Dare you to play BSU in the "tidy bowl."

BEWARE of the ducks on halloween, it will be quite a scary night in Autzen.

My bad..my Big 12 reference was to the Big Ten which has more than ten teams...it was supposed to be a joke. Real college football fans may have recognized it as such...its hard to get the sarcasm just right in print media. My main point is simply this...Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio State and Penn State...all beaten soundly by USC in big games in the Pete Carroll era. Lets root for a USC vs. SEC matchup this year.

Its like Notre Dame in any BCS bowl game...they get humiliated! Or Ohio State in the NC game...we don't want to see it again anytime soon.

I can not believe that Boise State, Cincinnati, and Iowa are listed above USC. We always destroy the Big 10 when we play them.. Iowa should have lost to Iowa State.

Petey is just a cry baby because the biased human polls have him ranked 4th and the IMPARTIAL COMPUTER POLLS have USC ranked 11th, thus putting the Trojans at #7, about where they rightfully belong if not closer to what the computers ranked them (#11). I think #11 is a better indication of how good USC is, definitely not #4..........LOL :\ Carroll is just a Big Cry baby!!! Wahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

funny to see these homers still talking about USC in the Title game. Get a clue, USC has not beaten anyone even worth mentioning. ND was overated at #25 and they almost took down USC. Cal is not that good really, and their other conference win is agains the worst team in college WSU. I can't wait til they start playing some real teams the Oregon schools and when Toby Gerhart and the mighty Cardinal go to L.A. and run over you condoms.

USC has played NOBODIES this year. LSU, Florida, and specially Alabama and Texas would destroy the condoms.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
