I applaud Coach Gundy, I am not so much applauding his tirade but his defense of his players.

I think that given our society's hero worship of athletics, often many go to great lengths to drag them down. Many deserve it but clearly many of these athletes are college age men and women who are doing their best to go to school and play a sport they love and clearly do not deserve the personal attacks against their character.

Pick on Gundy if you must, he is grown and makes his living in this highly combustable occupation. Please leave the young men and women's character out of the equation when you critique their performance.

You go coach!! It's about time someone stood up to the press - your opinions are one thing but to put down a child who's doing his or her best is just wrong

I agree with Coach Gundy. The media is weak and would never understand what it takes to go through life and make an honest living!

I couldn't believe the comments that came out of the football writers association about handling the OSU incident in a more private manner. They sure didn't. I say good for Gundy. Being an alum of the UofA, I'm refreshed to see a coach defending a player for something other than an arrest. I wish we had him for our coach.

I am a Husker fan (difficult to do lately), but more importantly, I am a dad and, a darn good one.
I wish the emphasis on college sports was as much about the person and academics as it is on their performace.
Good for Mike Gundy. I've not been a fan, but he is stepping up as a true man and leader of young men.
The news media, most importantly on the national news scene, has become so elite acting, that any is hard to believe. The original article is way out of line, and Coach Gundy has a very valid point.
I've seen my kids' feelings hurt and he handled this like a father. I would be proud to have him coach my children.

Coach Gundy is a true Poke.

If the coach had taken as much time to prepare his speach, as the columnist and editors theirs, the truth would have gone unheralded.

Go Pokes!

I APPLAUD Coach Gundy....I don't read the newspaper either, unable to tell fact from fiction and seems most of it is 1/2 truths or fiction all together.

Yeah Coach Gundy for defending the young athletes who work hard and play hard.

I loved the way Coach Gundy stood up for his player. We played Oklahoma State on Sept. 1 with Reid as their quarterback and he did a pretty good job against UGA. The main thing to remember is that these are young men who are preparing for their future in ALL areas of their lives (not just sports) with an insurmountable amount of pressure to deal with on a daily basis. Coach Gundy gave it right back to the media and made his point in an intelligent, respectable, and meaningful way. I was definitely impressed! Go Cowboys!

I would be willing to bet a large amount of money that the person that wrote that article was an OU fan. I am very proud of my coach on this day. When it comes to the media there is only one quote that comes to mind. "Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you to their level and beat you with experience." ~ anonymous

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
