i think it is best to keep the team together for another ring

they must re sign ariza and odom because they are already familiar with the lakers offense and defense system ...they have lot a chance to win another title if these team stay together...
They want to keep team together and who knows in future drafts , how high these future drafts will be. Nice to have for selections and trading materiel.

I think Mitch should do what he can to obtain Ariza, Odom, And Brown. Hope Lakers Do this right the First time if they want a repeat possibly a Three-peat

This is a good move by the LA management, because we will need Shannon, Ariza and Odom come next season. LA 10-11 Champs

Smart move #1 was selling and ytrading their draft picks.
Smart move #2 is resigning Odom. Smart move #3 is resigning Ariza and #4 is resigning Brown. They have a great team if they dont lose anyone. Cleveland has Shaq now and it will be interesting what impact good or bad he has on Cleveland. San Antonio got Jefferson which was a great move. Phoenix will be a contender for the West but I dont think the trade helped them player wise, but sure did with salary cap. G.S. Who knows what they are going to do. The Kings, well they picked the wrong Guard and should of gone with Rubio. Minnesota made out the best in the draft. As a Laker fan my thanks go out to the front office of the Kings, thanks for blowing the draft, they are 1 less team to worry about. |

I think that was a smart move by trading their first round pick, and I am sure Kupchak will do whatever he has to do to resign Ariza, Odom and Brown. All very dominant players that will help Kobe and Fisher bring another championship title back to LA next year. I hope Phil Jackson will also seriously consider returning to LA. We need the Captain of the ship.
Just because Shaq signed with the Cavs really does not say a whole lot. After all look how much help he was for the Suns, they didn't even make the playoffs. They still have to get pass the Celtics and the Magics befor they can say hello to the Lakers. Go get them Lakers. I love you guys. |

All I know, is you better do what you have to do to keep the boys intact... If you don't, you better not bother coming home!! hahahahhaa

I like the moves the Lakers made in the draft, but I'm not sure how realistic signing Odom, Ariza, and Brown in free agency will be. If they can't get all three they better secure Odom first, Ariza second, and if they can snag Brown get him too. Odom is one of those unique humble and super versatile big men. Ariza is a defender that has vastly improved his outside shot. Brown hasn't been truly battle tested, but has looked very solid and athletic in his playing time.
As for Shaq in Cleveland, I'm afraid I don't see that helping the Cavs a whole lot. I know that the Cavs play more half court sets then the Suns, but Illgaskas played on the perimeter often allowing a mostly clear path through the lane for James. Shaq is not only going to stay in the paint, he's going to take up the paint adding his defender as well to that mix. All in all I think the Lakers will be solid if they can retain at least Odom and Ariza. |

Sounds like Jerry's pockets are not that deep after all. Maybe a little financial weekness. Take the time to decide who you will draft and then sell them? If you don't need the players you would trade them for next years draft. I don't remember a team selling 2 draft picks the same year before.

In order for LAKERS to keep the status & maintain the Championship! keep Ariza, Shannon & Odom...! have these 3 stars play for the next season (LAKERs TEAM)
Cheers. |

Will it be possible to ask Kobe to cut a few millions in his salary and give it to Lamar, or
Ariza to keep them in the roster? Do you think he is willing to do so in order to have the important supporting players for the future championships? |
I don't think that is something the Lakers should have to do. Instead of Kobe cutting his salary I think Lamar and Ariza should take less to re-sign. Kobe does his part and more for the team. He's the last person that should be approached to give up salary. He is worth every penny of his salary. Besides, Kobe isn't riding Odom and Arizas shirt-tales to championships...Odom and Ariza are riding his. That being said, both are a valuble part of the Lakers core. Odom more so in my opinion. |

You gotta keep Trevor, Shannon, Lamar, you add kobe Pual, Fisher and you have The NEW DREAM TEAM.... I think that they will get the job done again without any new players. Lamar said he would take a pay cut to stay in L.A and what's this about Ron Artest.... Please say it ain't so???? we wreally don't need him in L.A
If we can't have Ariza I think Artest makes sense. He's a great defender and can score the ball when he needs to. He'll be willing to listen to Kobe and Phil. It's amazing what troubled but talented players can do when they play for coaches and players they respect. I think this will add an interesting perspective to a great Lakers team.
