Full story: El Paso Times

UTEP was dead solid perfect from the free throw line down the stretch and that was more than enough to fend off a late SMU surge Saturday night in Moody Coliseum.

Way to go EPTimes, Culpepper scored 28 not 25 points. Looks like someone needs to take a journalism class.

Looks like the Miners were back to the less balanced team they'd been before the last couple of games. Too much Stefon and Randy and not enough of the rest of the TEAM. It was too close those last few minutes. Again it seems shot selection especially down the stretch was an issue. However, they found a way to win. How wonderful is it to be able to rely on solid foul shooting?!?!? Nice job guys and coaches. It's always great to win despite certain tendencies. Let's keep moving forward and learning!GO MINERS!

If the Miners keep it up, UTEP will be searching for a new coach in a few months.

Typical UTEP fan, looking at the glass as half empty. Let's hope this season continues to be successful and we make a run at the NCAAs. If so, then Barbee will probably be a hot commodity. If he gets the right offer, then of course, he'll take it. I won't blame him if gets an opportunity for three or four times the salary and a shot in a big conference where his team would be on national TV regularly.

If and when he leaves, look at it as a sign that our program is back where it needs to be. With the athletes he's brought in (most of whom are sophomores and freshmen), plenty of good coaches would love a shot to coach here. Until then, lets just enjoy the season.

Great to see the Miners last night and their season is rolling well.

Playing in Dallas is almost like a home game, because unlike Lobo fans in Alberquerque - in Dallas very little people go to SMU games - even most the students don't go.
With around 1,500 Miner fans in the stands - we easily drown out 2,000 Pony fans.

3,500 fans? With the Cowboys and Mavericks in town, the Mustangs don't have a chance.

SMU apathetic spoiled brats don't attend games, they'd rather be out snorting coke at the club scene. 4 million in DFW, they should at least turn out 5K in alums. Unless SMU wins no one goes. Mavs stink, cowgirls blow.

When the Miners visit DFW there is a great draw. Go Miners

Awesome recruiter!
His coaching abilities are questionable.IMO

He's got to much talent here not to succeed.

David Lee could coach this team.
