Yes, it may well be karma that Joe Paterno's health has taken a turn for the worse. Sorry that it has come to that because I always thought he had his heart in the right place. He fell woefully short in handling the child abuse, though. But I doubt that this is some kind of punishment for that. Pray for him, Wang, that's all we can do. Forgive him for his shortcoming.

I'll pray for the kids whose abuse he facilitated.

Hahaha, that's pretty lame. Joepajerko enabled Sandusky to be a child abuser. That is his legacy.

He told his superior and then let it drop. One would think that, for something as egregous as child abuse, he would have done everything he could to investigate and terminate such activities. He, and apparently you, thinks, oops I mean he thought, that what he did was sufficient. What would you think if that was your kid?

just as i thought, nothing to add to the conversation.
first of all how credible was the story. an assistant coach who had been a big 10 quarterback [i think] supposedly sees a 60ish old man and superior assistant coach assulting a boy in the shower and he does nothing about it but goand tell jopa after the fact. you think a recent big ten footballplayer could hace handled a much older coach and rescued the boy?
what was the relationship between those too assistant coaches. would it not seem that perhaps the younger might have just been trying to smear the older coach?
now just what are the facts?

http://www.nj.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2...
"The Penn State University police is a fully-acccredited police agency with the same power and authority as the Pennsylvania State Police (I've been on the wrong end of them more than once.)

Joe Paterno heard a single allegation from accuser Mike McCreary. He notified his superior (Athletic director Tim Curely) and then followed up by having McCreaery meet with Gary Schultz, head of PSU Police.

Schultz and Curely spoke with PSU president Spanier and then decided to cover up the events by telling a series of lies. Joe Pa, whose job is to cosach football, not to conduct criminal investigation believed the lies told to him by Schultz and Curley.

Joe Pa was named as a cooperative witness in front of the grand jury., Schultz and Curely are now facing perjury-related charges. In the PSU culture if you commit perjury to protect the university (Curley and Schultz) you get a suspension. If you tell the truth and embarass the university you get fired (Paterno.)"

now what would you have done? jopa was not an eyewitness. a young coach was accussing an older and well respected coach of something terrible that he supposedly witnessed but did not feel that it was proper to intervine directly and waited till later to report it. jopa did pass it on up the line of authority at the school and reported it to the police. now if the authorities and the police did not feel that there was something credible there to investigate then what was jopa supposed to do? he was not a witness. he could not tell what the real truth was. he could not possibly be sure of the motive behind the accusation.

so once again what would you do under the circumstances? suppose it was just a jr assistant coach trying to work his way up the ladder by smearing a respected associate.
jopa did what was right it was the university and the police as well as the DA who dropped the ball in this investigation.

so untill you come up with something valid to accuse jopa of then i suggest that you let him and his good name rest in peace.

that's your response?
you smear a dead man who lead a nation of kids to walk in pride of their school and the talents that God had blessed them with. a man who was loyal to the core to his family, his school, and the kids that parents all across the country for longer than perhaps you have been alive trusted him to mentor and teach not just the game of football but the ways of life. truly there has never been a greter coach over such a lenghty period of time.
you can't backup your accusations with facts you're just happy that a man who was perhaps better than all of us is gone. and when presented with the facts you turn around and attack my family. let me just say this, you must live a sorry life. i saw my eldest son a few weaks ago invite a homeless man who was fishing through the garbage at a wendy's to come on in and get a meal with him. my other son has taken in a boy who has kidney failure and is doing all those nasty proceedures to help keep this kid alive and in school as he family has basically abandoned him. now i could go on and on but believe me an engineer and a school teacher who do things like that, you can feel sorry for them all you want.

Blah blah balh, What a really stupid post. I couldn't care less what you litter did. You can live with your head in the sand, and in the case of child abuse, with it up your butt if you want. Joepajerko smeared himself by his inaction. Are you catholic too? You seem to think child abuse is ok for some segments of society.

that's good, there it is....
you could care less. children are just part of a litter to you. real classy language there also. don't worry niether jopa nor anyone else would really want to be on your approval list.
why don't you go after those who had the information and had the authorityto do something about it?
or better yet perhaps you can suggest what else jopa could have done considering that the eye witness did not think it serious enough to directly intervene or even immediatly report it?
otherwise go ahead and shut up.

Yep, wrong again sunshine. Any offspring of yours are a litter. You would probably hire Sandusky to babysit your brood. Maybe you can one day share a hotdog with Joejerko, Sandusky, and some catholic priests.

If you've been grappling with a knotty problem recently you could have a breakthrough today when you suddenly see the light. It will help to discuss the whole thing with other people because they'll help you to view it from a fresh perspective, and that could make all the difference. Don't worry if you come up with a rather strange or unusual solution, because that may be exactly what's needed.
