Yeah uh, you and Jimmy Vaccaro apparently don't realize that USC lost to Oregon State. The same Oregon State that Penn State whooped easilly with no troubles. Funny that you would point out the Ohio State matchups (common opponent) but leave out the more obvious Oregon State matchups, also common opponent but the one that proves you wrong. That Oregon State loss also makes it ridiculous that Jimmy Vaccaro (sounds like an honest guy; are you sure he's not trying to hustle you?) would actually pick USC over every other team in the country. That right there invalidates any opinion he has, and since you're using him as your expert advisor it invalidates yours (althouth your arguments also invalidate your opinions).
And about the Ohio State game you conveniently forget to mention that USC got Ohio State at home, and minus Beanie Wells, and minus Pryor. And no matter how much you want to argue about the Ohio State matchups, the Oregon State matchups trump that because USC lost.
Meanwhile you state something silly about the rest of PSU's Big 10 opponents don't compare to the PAC10 that is the most laughable thing I've ever heard. Cal and Mighigan State already proved they are practically the same (Cal won a tight squeaker over MS at Cal early this season). Penn State has a great case for being better than USC, OSU is clearly better than Oregon State, it leaves me knowing why you didn't back that stupid statement up with any argument. This is one of the Big 10's worst years and they're still better than the PAC10.

Oh and Iowa has 7th ranked defense in points allowed and has only lost games by a few points and is coming up on PSU's schedule. I'm sure you give them no credit either. Oh I wish PSU played in the big bad PAC10 to gain credibility! HA ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa yeah right

DK says, "...they still are the county's most respected college football entity..."
Doug, did you mean the COUNTRY'S? Not county? DK, you gotta do a better job of editing these stories...and, there was plenty of opportunity in this mediocre prose to drop in a Doug Blazak position on the BCS...another missed opportunity.

I think we can all agree that a playoff system is necessary. And neither of us would argue that BOTH PSU and USC would deserve to be in an 8-team playoff.
The argument against playoffs are so dumb. People say "Yeah but with playoffs the 9th team will still complain about being left out". Ummmmm, being #9 and being left out of the top 8 is light-years away from being undefeated #3 from a major conference and left out (see Auburn '04). Nobody will care much about #9's complaint in comparison to the nightmare scenarios the BCS currently foists upon us most years.
The only other argument against playoffs is that an "underdog" might become champion. Ummm, that happens all the time in collegiate and professional sports, and fans eat it up. And hey, at least in that case the losing teams can only blame themselves (for losing) and the winning team earns it through direct games over the top ranked teams, not through a ridiculous voting and computer ranking system.
Bottom line, USC certainly has ammo to complain about the system that is in place, but has no argument that it deserves to be ranked above PSU.

This biased and irresponsable article is just more evidence of how bad it is when you allow people who do not play football to be a big part of the equation in deciding who gets there. Then, to be someone who took adavantage of the system for years, only to cry "foul!" when they don't get the special treatment their used too. Let me get this straight: In a 'fair world according to Krikorian, USC losses should not count, since he failed to mention Penn State killed the team the Trojans lost too- The basis for who should play in the BCS championship should be soley based on the overall perception of talent before the season started- If a team in the conference losses in the BCS game in recent past, all teams from the conference should not be allowed to participate in the BCS championship in the near future or ever. He did not specify- Any other teams losses, except for USC, should not only be carefully critiqued but the fact that another team in the conference lost any games at all should equally be counted negatively against the conf., except the Pac 10- And finally, USC should be in all BCS championships as an automatic bid since we all know they are simply so much more talented than everyone else. Does that about cover it?

Duh, they lost to Oregon State...you want in the BCS and want a viable argument? Don't lose to Stanford, Oregon State and my alma mater, UCLA...win your games...you're not in the SEC where football is better and one loss gets you in...there is no playoff...win your games...period! Right, Doug Blazak?

Funny how Jimmy Vaccaro left out that Penn State handily defeated Oregon State 45-14, the only team to beat USC this year. Penn State got 100 more yards against Oregon State than USC did. Jimmy, biased much? I have no doubt that Penn State's defense would thoroughly shut down USC.

Wagering does not decide the national championship. Win your games & you've got a great shot at being there at the end. Maybe it's Oregon State that is getting screwed.

Everyone who is debating where Tx. Tech jumped to is talking about if they should have jumped PSU. My take is that if you decide to put Tech over PSU with the 67th ranked schedule, how can you not put them over Alabama with the 80th ranked schedule? On top of that, as we continue to see how bad the competition is for Alabama and Florida in the SEC, why isn't anyone talking about how weak their SEC schedules are turning out to be? The only conference with any room to talk this year is the Big 12, and even they may be a product of a lot of great offenses and poor defense.

Get out of the house & get some fresh air once in a while. There is a reason they play the games - and it is only a game. Once the regular season is over and the bowl games are set, come back then and whine about how your team got screwed.

I would love to get out and get some fresh air but my boss would not want me to leave early and my wife dosen't want a smaller pay check. Get my drift. Best time I've ever earned.
