Which proves that Vince Lombardi never thought of "faith" as a substitute for discipline, hard work, effort or results. Otherwise, he would have said something like "whether we win or lose, depends on alot of things like luck and injuries, it isn't really anybodies fault if we fail, we simply need to have faith and as long as we have faith we're all winners." Thankfully Vince was a man instead of whiny mouse.

Good for you. And while you're expecting "contender" status, I will continue to expect results and Championships.

Its not whether a man gets knocked down, its whether he gets back up or not.
Vince Lombardi.

<quoted text>GBPfan, how can you make the Packers win by accepting failure?
That is what I said. As usual your reading comprehension sucks. MY WHOLE POINT was that people don't and can't make the Packers win by accepting failure. Yet they brag about how they accepted failure for years, as if it was them who caused the Packers to win when it finally happened because they "believed" during prior failure. They claim I'm less of a Packer fan because I don't accept failure and never have. According to those people the GOOD fans believe and have faith regardless of the amount of failure. If we follow that logic, Viking fans are the BEST fans, because they have had "faith" and "believed" with zero results in the last 50 years. What fans have more "faith" than Viking fans? If people want to admire that way of thinking so much, they can become Viking fans.

As for me, I always have and always will take results over faith because I'm a PACKER fan. As Vince said: Winning isn't everything - it's the only thing.

Good. You're starting to understand. Vince didn't say: "Its not whether a man gets knocked down, it's how good he is at making excuses for getting knocked down."

Vince had a belief system that didn't allow pathetic whiny excuses to even enter into the team's consciousness. He was all about results and winning. Those things require hard work and effort. He had zero belief that Champions were made by "luck" or "hope."

Bottom line is,People had faith ( which appearently you dont like)people expected them to be good and folks had the expectation of winning and regardless of your anti TT rants, and others expecting to win, having faith we will win or me expecting we will win,Green Bay Won the Super Bowl and thats the bottom line or as someone once said,SCOREBOARD!

People had excuses for failure. Faith is meaningless. "Faith" has no effect on Packer game results whatsoever. The people that want to think their faith makes them special can do so, but I'm not going to join there cheerleading squad. And I'm not anti TT and I never have been. Just because you weirdos insisted on ignoring facts, doesn't mean I was being anti TT when I pointed out the FACTS! Packer fans don't sugar coat a GMs failures. The Packers are more important than any one individual employee, no matter who that person is.

Bottom line is the PACKERS won the Super Bowl. Hopefully success is not temporary! Start to act like you really believe that it isn't temporary. Stop putting "faith" over results. It's alright to EXPECT another Championship.

IT was mentioned that TT got us in position to be contenders for the next years and you bashed them for having faith ect.Ive mentioned i expect the Packers to win more then 1 SB Championship.hell last year during the playoff run before the Chi. game,I mention after We beat Chi and go to the SB,you again got bent and upset.so I expected to win and i expect to win another one at some point.I do have faith GB will win another SB,i have a belief they will win another SB and like i said, you bashed wal for having faith for the next few years and being a contender, you bashed me for giving TT credit and others for believing TT will build a team good enough to win it and they did win it

Show me where or when I "got bent" with Ted Thompson. I never did. I know that you have always considered the truth about Ted to be hatred. It isn't and it never was. I waited until the results were achieved before giving Ted credit. So what?

And I also believe the Packers will win more Super Bowls. I hope that it will be soon and obviously that means that it would be under TT's management. Whee! I'm great because I believe the Packers will win more Super Bowls! Some day it will happen. However, I don't know whether it will happen under TT's management. Like this last Super Bowl win I'll wait until it happens until I give him credit.

I have given TT the credit he EARNED for his contribution to the Packers Super Bowl win. So your claim that I bashed you for that is ridiculous. I'll never give anybody credit for praising the previous failures under his management.

The whole "faith" thing has been explained. If you simply cannot understand what I said, that comes as no surprise. You obviously are proud of your "faith" in Ted Thompson. Good for you. You have faith. You are the same as every Viking fan I've ever known. They have faith too. In fact, they have more faith than you. Congratulations for having faith. You clearly believe it means something. As I said, I'll take results over faith any day.

BTW it's funny that eric, a/k/a Mr. Faith, didn't believe the Packers would win the Super Bowl until after the NFC Championship game. I've been EXPECTING a Championship for the last 6 years. Actually, I've expected it my entire life. Yet, you consider me to be the BAD fan. If that's what you need to believe, go ahead, I don't care. As I've said hundreds of times, all I care about are Packer Championships.

I've seen the light. It's foolish to argue with success. That's all I ever wanted. It didn't matter how often I told people I didn't hate the guy. People simply wouldn't believe it. It was the results I had a problem with. How can I have a problem with the results now? TT helped give me what I wanted. He deserves some respect now. He finally EARNED it.

That's alright. It's not your fault. I can't say anything nice about Ted or show some confidence in him without some people finding a reason to be critical. I would think they would like it when I do that, but some people just can't be pleased.

Don't be a dick. I never gave TT all the credit. TT certainly hasn't come anywhere close to winning a Super Bowl EVERY year. If you ever paid any fricking attention to the Packers and the failure and success under TT's management you would have noticed one Championship in 6 years. It took much longer than it should have but he finally did it. I give him the respect and credit he deserves for that. I don't give any respect to the losers that accept failure and I never will.
BTW your pathetic and meaningless predictions are worthless. It's results that mean something. The fact that TT has finally earned my respect doesn't mean he gets to skate on past success. And it certainly doesn't mean that I will ever adopt your loser attitude.
Why is it that when someone says something you don't like or agree with you resort to name calling? I may not always agree with your comments but will always respect your right to comment. All of us who comment on this site should respect others comments. Name calling shows direspect and immaturity on your part as an answer to those you don't agree with. I am just as much a Packers fan as you are and will not sit around worrying about past failures by any GM, coach or player. It is the past. Can't do anything about it or change it. Enjoy that the Packers are Super Bowl champions and watch this team try to improve and win another championship is what I am going to focus on as a Packers fan.

NLY, Good to hear from you,how have you been?
NOW
Let this whole damn lockout end,so we can get on with things. GBPfan, you may think P.B.Witchita statement of being a playoff contender for the next 6-7 years pathetic or worthless and it has to be played on the field, but, he/she is right,This is the youngest team in the NFL adn won the SB with 15 guys on IR as you know and i expect GB to be a contender for the next 5 or 6 years or so.
Eric, thanks for understanding what I was trying to say. TT and MM have recieved many complements from those who know alot more about the NFL than you, I or anyone else on the sight knows. Some will say that, up to this point, TT was a failure for 6 yrs because the Packers did not win a SB. He/she will give us the "facts" as he/she sees them and then call us names for not understanding him/her or agreeing with him/her. The fact of the matter is that our Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl. I believe the opportunity to win more is there and will continue to be in the future.

PB Witchita KS Ill say this You,Myself,Wal and others had faith TT would bring us a SB championship and he did BOTTOM LINE.
Now,some would have run TT out of town a few years ago and who would they have replaced TT with? WHo knows as it didnt happen, but, if they did, could those fan then with 100% tell us that that certain GM replacing Ted would be better and better results? No,no one could. It comes down to did Mark Murphy have enough faith that Ted Thompson would bring a Super Bowl Championship to Green Bay?Apparently Mark Murphy had that faith in TT and it was a great call on his part for keeping him during some rough water.Mark Murphy had the faith and so did we and now the Green Bay Packers are Super Bowl Champions.
So, How do you like the draft? Obviously no one can judge until they play a few years, but, the Bigtime Tackle, the WR from Kentucky who can return kicks and learn from DD and replace JJ if or when he leaves.Green the back from Hawaii should be interesting,i wonder what that does for Demitri Nance? James Starks and of course Ryan Grant are 1 and 2 Green 3.Kuhn if they resign can pair with quinn johnson at FB.Im thinking with guys coming back, they will be back in the playoffs and have a pretty decent shot at getting back to the SB.Repeats are tough, but, who knows.
Great hearing from you as always! and i know or knew where you were going or what you meant and i agree with you 100%

Why? Because when I said nice things about Ted you were a dick about it. That's why. If you don't like it there is a very simple solution. Don't be a dick.

Depth and developement is what I saw with this draft. The Packers' front office has had the knack the last 2-3 drafts of finding players who may not start right away but will fit in to the team concept that McCarthy and Thompson have built. Sherrod looks like the type who could be a starter in the next couple of years. I am really intrigued by WR Cobb. Not knowing if JJ is here for the long haul and DD not getting any younger I thought he was a solid pick. He is also a returner which is something the Packers have done by commitee since the Desmond Howard days. Drafting Green at RB is solid also. The Packers probably do not have anyone on the roster that is going to go out and rush for 1000 yds.,Ryan Grant included. It seems the offensive theory of this team is to have a respectable running game, just to keep the opponent honest. With the variety of RB's they have each one brings something different to the table. That being said, it would be nice to see someone step up and be a consistent runner. With all the players returning from IR it's almost like the Packers had 2 drafts! I would expect competition at several positions whenever this lockout ends. The competition for jobs should prevent any hangover from the SB victory. One player I am looking forward to returning is TE Finley. If healthy, he will make an already potent offense even better. Our coaching staff will develope these new guys and we will see a strong team for several years. Ya gotta have faith!
