1 -I agree. I was raised in Eugene(Duck fan!) and I watched the entire game...the Boise State guy kinda had it coming for popping off and hitting Blount on the shoulder pads, but a stern word as he left would have been fine. That punch was tasteless, another of many black-eyes for the Oregon program. Too bad all that Nike money can't buy class/sportsmanship. Nice uniform combinations, love the "space-age" doors in the multi-milion-dollar facilities...maybe we should have spent some of that money on better recruiting towards guys who will represent the program well in every sense of the word. There is no place in sports for that garbage and that was one of the most cowardly things I have ever seen, in one of the worst college football games I have ever seen. Kick his ass off the team, period. No scholarship, no suspension, no questions, no probation, no "ask Phil"...get him the F outta here! Stop recruiting POS bums just because they are meat-heads who can play a sport! I swear, the Ducks make it hard to want to root for them. Whatever happend to winning and losing graciously?!?! (Side note- it's 8:45am (PT) and I work in a very public place. I have already heard about 20 people walking by talk about how bad the Duck game was last night, how bad both teams looked, and the melee at the end...words like embarrassed, ashamed, ugly, atrocious, awful, sad, pathetic,etc.) |

You are right, the BSU player obviously said something and tapped Blount on the shoulder. He should be disciplined for that.
However, Blount's reactions were obviously completely out of line. He was out of control. The police had to hold him back from the crowd. That guy is obviously a piece of work. He had a great year last year but he looked horrible last night. Might I remind you that he is the one who got tackled in the endzone, he was the one who couldn't convert the 4th and 1, he looked slow. Oregon needs to suspend that guy indefinately and set the standard for the rest of the team. Oregon will end up in the middle of the pac 10 this year. I wouldn't be suprised if the Dawgs beat them. |

1 LMFAO-NO WAY!!! No matter what was said, he is the one who THREW A PUNCH. The NCAA WILL be on this. Oregon should boot his POS ass themselves first. Classless/tasteless people talk smack in sports, that is a fact. If he can not handle his emotions and take his beatin' like a man he should no be out there.(Not saying the Boise State player was cool either though...I was raised in Eugene) |

You also have to remember that Blount may have brought this on himself when he said "we owe them an a$$ whooping." Talk that kind of smack, then go negative 5 yards on 8 carries and get tackled for a safety, expect to have some of it flow back in your direction. I agree with Nick: this guy was out of control last night, taking swings at teammates, fans, security, and cops. He does not belong on a football team.

1 NCAA only has rules for before the game and during, NOTHING for after the game. Oregon will have to disipline him. |

-yeah the Boise player said something, that's why he got punched! But I do agree with you, no matter what was said, the punch was WAY OUT OF LINE and I think he should be kicked off the team for being such an embarrassing POS (and I was raised in Eugene). |
||||
-did not know that. Thanks for the intel. Can the Pac-10 step in? |

1 Are you F'n crazy?!?! From the video, the Boise State player did bump Blount in the shoulder pad and made a comment (probably rubbing it in). But this is college football, it's expected that sportsmanship and maturity levels are lacking. What Blount did was totally unacceptable on all levels of any sport. Even in the most violent of sports, you don't see an MMA fighter "sucker punching" his opponent after a fight. From what I've heard it was Blount that was trash talking weeks ahead of the game. My personal opinion is, "if you can dish it, you better be able to take it." Apparently Blount couldn't take what he dishes out.--Double Standard b*tch. |

Blount couldn't handle the embarrassment being tackled in the endzone with the ball....his own endzone for a safety. This shame just grew like a cancer in his gut until he just punked-out out post game. |

-point? Way to say...nothing! |
