It's really unfair for Alex's Dad to blame the Ohio State or any part of the athletic program for these events. I do understand his frustration & I'ld be outraged if my son's image was simalarly connected with a disreputable person. But No one can screen anonymous persons who show up to support athletic events. The person to blame is the sicko who got pictures of himself next to student athletes & then posted them to aggrandize himself. Blamming OSU & then taking a shot at the entire athletic endeavor with broad brush language is really mean & short sighted. Mr. Anzalone may not have wanted Alex to attend OSU, & they could have quietly dropped OSU off their list. Now, all the colleges have to watch out for Alex's Dad & his propensity to reach for the media. Guess how that's worked out for student atheletes before?

OSU will almost certainly react by banning all such photo opps in the future, which will be a real shame. & we all hate to see a potentially good player de commit under such circumstances. Good Luck, Alex.

I guess when his parents left him in the care of football players for the evening and picked him up the next day at the dorms his dad most of assumed someone was in charge. Why did Alex get exposed to a super fan, whom players were aware of . Players should of kept him on campus, it was an unofficial visit. What does NCAA rules say about that? I'm sure there is more to this that Alex won't let out. Alex and his family are doing whats best for him.

In retrospect, Alex's Dad may not have said the things attributed to him about OSU. That would have been the writer of the original article. On the other hand, by choosing to react in such a public way, instead of just quietly backing off & keeping it cool, they have created their own nightmare for the future. Wherever Alex plays, everytime he makes a great hit, guess what the color commentators will talk about? If he goes into a high profile program, with TV time,at least once a game his name will come up, and so will this story; perhaps even that wonderful picture. For jailed Wuest, its the gift that keeps on giving. And who made it all possible? Whoever kneejerked this de-commit reaction & had their impromptu press conference. Alex is a great player & I really hope he winds up at OSU; but we can all learn about better ways to do damage control.
