This is the most assinine approach to building a winning football program I've seen in my lifetime!! Howard is simply trying to get himself back into the "big show" by sacrificing his players and the future of the program to massive losses against teams FAU has no business playing. What a clown this man is!!! He's destroying the reputation of the program by branding it a perpetual looser which will take years and years to overcome.

FAU has enormous potential for success, but it can only be built on a winning tradition. Their out of conference games should be with teams they have a chance to beat, for instance teams in CUSA and the MAC, or top notch teams like Youngstown State. These could be meaningful wins compared to the humiliations the team experiences against BCS schools. The biggest, most important, well attended game the Owls ever played was against Cornell, and most people didn't know Cornell had a football team. But the game was between winners; and meant something.

Its time to put Howard out to pasture. Get a top notch, young coach who is skilled in 21st century football, build an on-campus stadium ala UCF, and put Howard's name on it. Do it, and FAU will be the football powerhouse in South Florida. Let's face it; Miami is finished as a national power and FIU will never get there, both being stuck in Dade County. Its going to be USF, Florida, Florida State, UCF and ???? maybe FAU. Its up to FAU to make a move now.
