Denfense and rebounding will be the key to this year. And Mr. Turner needs to cut down on turnovers...

1 Buckeyes are going to have a large disadvantage with thier short stature. They got outrebounded significantly last year. Expect the same this year. I think they will finish 4th or 5th in the conference which should set up a nice run the following year, a possible elite 8 maybe final 4 caliber team. |

Who then would you say was the best in the Big Ten last year? I like his confidence. As the article hints, other than team record he certainly had a better year than Kalin Lucas statistically(More pts, better shooting%, 3pt%, rebounds, steals, blocks. Lucas only better in assists 4.6 to 4.0 and less turnovers). |

Good point. Maybe I jumped the gun to think that Turner earning Big Ten player of the year is anything but ridiculous. I do think though that earning 1st team all Big Ten is respect enough considering his low list of accolades. You are right, he may be considered one of the better players in the leage with Manny Harris and Lucas, Hummell. I look to see a new name float to the top like Delvin Roe, maybe Sampson from Minnesota. Also remember that Lighty, who might be more skilled than Turner will be back. One thing I didn't realize is how tall Turner is. Definately makes him NBA equiped. Also, I think there might be some gray area when attempting to decipher whether his self assessment is confidence or arrogance. I guess reality is perception. |

1 1) Big Ten Championship 2) Regional Championship 3) National Championship Game How far did Evan Turner lead his team? What other player in the Big Ten accomplished these feats? It's one thing to have confidence in one's ability Turner, it's quite another to have the humility and the class to give credit where credit is due?? |

Goran Suton, Raymar Morgan, Travis Walton...:) Seriously though, I don't know Evan Turner, so I guess I am optimistically interpreting his statement that the award goes to "the best player on the best team" and his disappointment in how Ohio State finished as an acknowledgement that he needs to lead the team to more success to win the award. Hoping he is just a confident young man, not unclassy as you seem to have interpreted. |

Kalin is better and humble. Turner sucks. Kalin will run circles around him!
