Kellog may be a winner but UMass could have gotten a winner with experience. There were plenty of qualified candidates with experience, and winning records. Hiring an assistant coach for a major (sic) program may work out but where's the logic? He will have a learning curve also and UMass will lose games they could have won if they had hired an experienced coach.
