it is most unfortunate that our society has placed a premium on highly compensating people whose greatest contribution to society is the generation of cash.

isn't it about time we rethink who gets highly compensated?

There are many brilliant people out there who devote their lives to expanding knowledge, creating, inventing and generally making the world a better place; who can never, ever even dream of approaching this level of compensation.

Seems to me that something is wrong.

Wall Street types make millions and billions for pushing paper and running companies into the ground, Athletes earn millions for playing childrens games. Entertainers earn millions for playing a role. And all the while, doctors are losing their shirts, great teachers are being laid off and limited, invnetors are being robbed by larger entities.

What kind of culture is it that we have here exactly?

Time to think people. There will never be a better time to make this world a better place then right now.

There it is, the uconn propaganda machine at work via the HC. Uconn matches up well with Marquette? Ok, Marquette wins bing, at least they should if their guards play their typical game. Size advantege for uconn? Big deal. Blair is 6, 7 inches shorter than Tabby the Kitty Cat and he completely dominated Tabby last week. But then of course, according to calhoun it's the refs that dominated Tabby, not Blair.
Does anyone seriously think that Marquette is worried about Robinson? Oh yeah, that's right, TONIGHT is Robinson's big breakout, show the rest of the country how great you are night. Adrien, good for a 1/2, 1st or 2nd half but that's all you will get from him. Guards, Austrie, several ill advised 3's, some bad drives to basket and 2 for 11 shooting night is your line score for him. He's terrible. Price, can't carry the team without help, he gets none. See how calhoun's team rallies for him tonight, they will lay down and take a beating, that's how this team will rally for calhoun.

The most important event tonight will be the post game press conference where calhoun will once again, make a complete a** out of himself and blame refs, media, weatehr for uconn's soon to be embarrassing loss.

This is the type of game where Dyson will be missed, not for offense but for his toughness and defense. I hope Kemba can pick it up. Have a good one tonight, GO HUSKIES and Coach Calhoun.

So every player on UConn sucks and somehow the are 25-2. If thats the case, then your enemy Calhoun must be the best coach of all time.

I have my game face on all day today. I got my number 34, shirt all nice and clean. I will be going to the game with a marquette guy but I bought the tickets so he will have to say good things about UCONN. Huskies attack their speed with your speed go at them as much as you can and this game will be won. Calhoun is worth every penny and this game is the best game ever invented! Go Huskies show your stuff! The huskies win by seven to eight points tonight.

Alert the press, the jealous insignificant low-life losers are back from hiding. Even at 25-2 these losers still find something to bash the program about. Pretty damn sad.

Pitt just lost to providence- do you think this happens on the blogs that cover PITT? No because either 1) The people there actually have lives and don't go online to bash the program if they don't follow or support it and 2) They're fans aren't spoiled insignificant losers

After Calhoun's behavior the other day he should be working on his resume, not getting ready for this game. What a crybaby, no CEO makes 1.6 million if their company is making 12 million a year, and Calhoun should be no exception. He should be cut back to less than 5% of what the program makes or shown the door. He brought home national titles when he as making $600K, maybe that is what we need. In my opinion the whole Uconn sports system could use a major overhaul starting with the removal of Calhoun not just for his comments, but for being just plain lazy.

I disagree, here's one of many examples. David Silvers a dermatology professor at Columbia University in New York is paid 4.33 million dollars a year.

Jim Calhoun isn't a CEO. He's a basketball coach. And how exactly is he lazy?

My, my! How the brainless people continue to post their ignorant threads. UConn has a 25-2 record, they sit atop the Big East standings, and are ranked #2 in the country. Yet, Jim Calhoun needs to be removed from his position as coach because he is just "plain lazy". I wonder what knuckleheads like bblhed would be saying if UConn's record was 2-25 this season, the team didn't have 8-9 regular season Big East titles, 5-6 Big East tournament titles, 2 NCAA championships and instead they were annual doormats along with Rutgers, DePaul, and South Florida? Do you think supporters of those schools wish that they had a "lazy" coach like Jim Calhoun,(a man who is one win short of 800 in his career) in charge of their programs?
Somehow, despite having the lazy coach running the program, the team has accomplished goals within the college basketball world which would have been considered beyond the scope of reason if you were a loyal supporter back around 1979. 30 years ago, it would have been laughable to think that UConn would have 2 NCAA basketball championships on their resume. And yet, somehow this has been accomplished despite having a lazy individual running the program.
Yes, let's all blame the very lazy, incompetent Jim Calhoun! And by all means as bblhed believes, Jim Calhoun should brush up on his resume. The UConn board of directors will be looking to replace Calhoun because he is just plain lazy, inept, and incompetent.
bblhed, try engaging your brain before posting any other ridiculous threads concerning the UConn men's basketball program.

Hey watch the replay of the Pitt/Providence game and you will see Blair played his ususal good game (he missed a few.

The difference was that the refs set the tone early and called him on his shoudler/butt drives. The bif difference...Thabett didn't fall down.

Thabeet was rendered up and down from the bench, just as Blair was last night.

Thabeet played porrly against Pitt missing some 5 footers. He got beat that one game with an assist from the zebras.

I guess March 7 will go along way to
to proving the point.

The big guy should take acting lessons and drop each time he gets backed under the rim.

If Uconn is so bad and soft because they lost 2 games out of 27 to Pitt and G-town...both by reasonable margins....everybody else in the country must really stink...Pitt lost to Nova, Lou and PC (all teams that Thabeet scared from going into the paint and Uconn beat), UNC lost to subpar teams BC and Maryland, also freefalling Wake...OK lost to Ark (ouch) before this stretch of losing 2 without the best player in the country (only team with an equal resume to Uconn), Marq lost 1 of it's 4 to S.Flor (ouch)...I love how Uconn becomes really bad after one loss in a tied game with 3 to go to Pitt...or after a 14 point win, but other teams in the top 10 continue to lose a lot recently (Duke), lose really bad (Lou by 35), lose to really bad teams (Marq to S Flor)...Nova is a better version of this team and Uconn bigs shut them down...now I do agree that covering jump shooters could get Adrian and Thebeet in foul trouble....how about a zone tonight???? In addition, it is hard to build Marq as unbeatable while overlooking the fact that Marq had the same team and Uconn killed them last year (and we added Walker), and finally I do agree Marq can play a big team when you consider their classic game in the NCCAs against the Lopez twins of Standford....it should be fun, but I think Uconn wins by between 5-10.....
