It would have been easier to take if they were just honest with everyone and said that it was all about money. But to blame the schedule, the league, the competition, etc., was just complete BS. And that was after the administration lied to the incoming freshman and told them that they were "committed to football."

My child was considering Iona, however will probably reevaluate her decision to matriculate there in light of this. Football games in the fall are a nice way of meeting others and easing the pressure of your first year in college. I am sorry that the university has decided to cancel football. The Univ of New Haven has recently restarted its Football program and other schools such as Sacred Heart Univ have dynamic programs. Is Iona in a diminishing mode as opposed to a growth mode?
