Joe Paterno, Penn State president brought down in sex abuse scandal

Let's hope it's not revealed that Paterno held the kids down while Sandusky was pile driving.

The students rioting and camping out on JoePa's fron yard really need to read Jonah 2:8.

Such behavior toward Paterno, or any person for that matter, is idolatry plain and simple, and it speaks to a personal moral bankruptcy on the part of the student(s).

Paterno is just a man who made a career choice to coach college football and a personal choice to ignore a dangerous situation in his own back yard.

It's amazing how many are defending a football coach just because he can coach a relatively boring useless violent 'sport.' I have often wondered what REAL educators think about the bloated salaries of football and other coaches. Every 'student' involved in the riots should be expelled and face serious [prison time! It is high time that colleges crack down on pervert coaches and violent jocks!

Actually, JoePa did report the accusation to the authorities. Nobody has denied that. The issue, as far as I can tell, is that JoePa didn't question the authorities handling (or lack thereof) of the accusation.

O.K., we're seriously going to get the true "inside scoop" from these characters involved? Let's look at reality for a moment. McCreary, look at the size of the guy, he needs to call his "daddy", to tell him what to do? His daddy? Are you joking? Does the college actually want somebody that can't even make the easiest of a rational decisions? It's a college, not a kindergarten. Now, Paterno. 46 years as a coach, 84 years as an American, a human being. He can't comprehend the situation? Two seriously major incidents of child abuse/rape, and he gives the guy access to the very facilities where Sandusky has been taking his victims? Paterno's brain is gone. It was gone awhile back, just everyone had to try to keep their "golden calf". He knew it all, it's obvious. He can't even comprehend the "moral" aspect of it anymore. He could've looked like the hero in this mess, he turned out to be the villain.

O.k. Did you read the 23 page indictments? Read it. That Sandusky took and "groomed" some of those kids from his Second Mile camp facility. Perfect for a pedophile, a camp for kids. I love sports as much as the next person but yes Paterno had to go!!! Now if only we could get people in the streets over REAL issues instead of over Paterno's firing we would be in great shape. Joe Paterno didn't see it happened, but reported what he was told. So yes Joe would still have supporters.

He was LURED in there by a career pedophile!! Are you not aware that this guy Sandusky has been around small boys for over 30 years? Do you think that happened by accident? The guy is a PREDATOR.

Um, we don't have "accusations" there at Penn St., they have FACTS, that Sandusky is a predator, of the worst kind. Jos Paterno has kids, grandkids. i mean, what is the man thinking? Pardon me, but you are using "facts" that were not available in 2002. I haven't been following the case too closely, but I am not aware that any convictions occured even for Sandusky. Hasn't the Grand Jury just recently been held to indict Sandusky? No trial has been held, has it? So the "facts" are merely evidence still. But this is beside the point, as is Sandusky's guilt or innocence. The issue is Paterno's responsibility.

What facts did JoePa have in 2002? Didn't he report the allegations to those who were supposed to investigate and take further appropriate action? You seem to think he should have reported the rumour (and that is what it was to him, since he had no 1st hand knowledge) to the police. I maintain that's an impossible burden to place on an individual. He did report the allegations to the proper authorities. He is being vilified because they did not follow through.

From my pespective, this is mob mentality. JoePa has been lynched.
