Good analysis. I don't always agree with you but enjoy your column. Waaa Waaa Waaa. A lot of little girly men writing in here don't agree with you so you should be fired. Wow. I guess they hate every column and book they read that does not mirror their views. Whoops...that's right...they only read little girly books. The biggest hoot is the losers who have so little to do that they read a colunm they say they hate. HEE HEE HO HO.
I just glance over Preston's article to see what the gist is and reply to the posts not the article itself. A quick once over is enough to tell you all you need to know. Preston's style and basic approach haven't changed in about two and a half years. He used to be more of a straight reporter and contributed to The Sporting News. Then suddenly he got religion (or maybe a talking to from his editor to spice it up) and started going postal on everything in sight. He actually used to defend Billick quite solidly.

He has the skills but he chooses to keep telling and re-telling the same tiresome mantra. For his sake, I hope he moves elsewhere and gets a fresh start.

Hernandezwhatever doesn't get it. Preston isn't a "straight reporter." He writes an O-P-I-N-I-O-N column...get it now? He gets paid to express his opinions.(Do you read Rodricks or Cowherd for the news?) Read the AP or one of the other drones if you want straight reporting. I can't wait to read his columns, its fun even if sometimes I think he is completely wrong. Controversy and opinion is interesting. I suspect you really like them too or you would not "glance over" them. Good luck on getting him out of here. He is one of their most read columnists since so many people "glance over." The only way he will leave is when another bigger market inevitably snaps him up.

If you like Preston that's fine. For me reading him makes me go "okay so what?"

Everyone on this blog has an opinion, some controversial, it doesn't make them entertaining to read. In Preston's particular case he does not seem to possess any insight that any unpaid regular observer of the Ravens would have.

What has he told us about Billick that wan't obvious? That he isn't the best offensive coach? That he didn't have a feel for calling offensive plays in game situations? One of our security guards at work has had essentially those insights for years and he doesn't get paid columnist money.

If you enjoy being told what should already be pretty obvious, more power to you but it would be nice to get a little more depth.
