This pick is a JOKE, considering all the other 'best players available' that were still on the board at No. 12...

Mark my words, Ponder will never play a down in the NFL.

Those who don't like this pick don't know anything about football. Dalton would have been another good pick.

I see why the vikings picked a Qb in the draft but I think they picked Ponder a little to early. There was other areas the team needed to address first but only time will tell if Ponder will be the qb of the future. I just think Fairley or Bowers would of made a bigger impact

Webb will beat him out in camp. I am just happy that the most overrated player in the history of the NFL (Favre) is gone.

Aaauuughhh! This was a HUGE reach. There is no way Ponder is worth the #12 pick in the entire draft. Trade down and pick him up later or pick on OT.

This was the biggest reach in the first round since Dennis Green picked Dimitrius Underwood 12 years ago.

Joe Webb, don't go anywhere.

I don't mind this pick. I'm sure they tried desperately to trade down, but word was Washington was also interested in Ponder, so they couldn't trade down too far. I'll take a smart QB with average skills over a dumb QB like Mallet any day.

and Prince....hopefully I'm wrong but as right now my thoughts are BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to that pick!! Could have traded to late in the first round and acquired the same guy. Whatever though, that's why I'm an armchair QB and Spielman gets paid the big bucks. Welcome Ponder and good luck! Skiol Vikings!

The Vikes tried to trade down and got nothing in return. With all of the quarterbacks coming off the board...they had to do something. There would have been nothing good in the 2nd round. Who would you want Stanzie

What does it matter, the vikes are going to LA. There will be no new stadium, there is not enough money or support.

I hope the Vikings enjoy the view from the bottom,'cause that's what the pick of Ponder guarantees. Leaving Nick Fairley out there to be snatched by the Lions to team with Suh means Dee-troit will be contending wth GB for the division title here on out. I mean seriously, did anyone else notice it took like all of five seconds for the Lions to submit their pick once Spielman and company had once again aborted a prime spot in the draft. LOSERS!!!

Andy Dalton from TCU was far and away the best QB left in the draft, and he would have lasted into the 2nd round, as would Ponder and Mallet. How Spielman and his "brain trust" could not have known Detroit coveted Fairly and traded him later is beyond me. This was a jerky, uninformed pick through and through.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
