“I was a little frustrated with myself”
Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz sent a strong message Saturday to those who might doubt what guard Leemire Goldwire means to the 49ers.
'He gets blasted by some of our idiot fans for taking (bad) shots,' said Lutz, after Goldwire's career-high 39 points led the 49ers (14-8, 5-3 A-10) past St. Bonaventure in an Atlantic 10 game at the Reilly Center. 'Well, they should have been here tonight. If they want to question him, they can question me.
'I'm the guy who wants him to have the ball.'
Goldwire is a long-range shooting specialist whose recent two-game slump coincided with a pair of losses to Richmond and Dayton. He missed 20-of-22 3-point shots against the Spiders and Flyers as the 49ers sank to a tie for fifth in the league. Read more
