New York Times had nothing but positive comments about UTEP. Picked it as the favorite to provide a big upset in its bracket. Here's hoping!

Hate to break it to you, but Butler is 8th in the current coaches poll and 11th in the AP Poll. A quick 45 seconds would have saved you that mistake.

Hopefully if you guys do move on to play Murray State or Vandy the newspaper will get the opposing team's conference or ranking right.

As for the game, UTEP is going to be very tough matchup for the Bulldogs. Depends on how the game is called and how the threes are falling. Good luck to you either way on Thursday.

Yes you and I wouldn't consider UTEP winning an upset but from the Nations's perspective it would be. This is a good matchup and I think that UTEP will surprise the entire college BB world by demonstrating what we already know they are capable of doing. Miners by 6.

Actually i already knew that irishdawg. what i meant to say was that was their ranking heading into the horizon tourney. they moved up this week and utep moved down. either way, i think its too high of a ranking for a team that plays out of the horizon league. They played and beat Ohio St.....but ohio st was without evan turner, it would be a much different outcome if they played that game today. 8th, 11th, 12th....they're all too high a seed for Butler in my opinion. New Mexico out of the MT West had to go on a serious winning streak and beat some tough teams in that conference and they are ranked around the same with them. You put New Mexico vs Butler and new mexico would beat them everytime....just my opinion

The Miners are going to get the double whammy. 1) They are going to get beat by Butler 2) A bigger conference team is going to hire your coach away.

.Joe Lunardi of ESPN says
UTEP will play Syracuse in the Sweet 16. And just how will they do that? By beating Butler in the first round and the winner of Vanderbilt-Murray State in the second. UTEP, like its first-round counterparts, are probably a bit better than their resume, and their resume is good. What's more, they're a tough matchup for Butler, whose lack of front-court depth could really struggle with the likes of Derrick Caracter and center Arnett Moultrie. After that small matter of business is concluded, the Miners will face a relatively forgiving No. 4 seed in Vanderbilt, a team that actually ranks behind the Miners in adjusted efficiency. It's one of the easier roads for any No. 12 seed into the Sweet Sixteen, and I think UTEP forges it.

wow these Butler fans are pretty confident......im assuming they think they are probably playing wright st again, or maybe cleveland st.?? maybe that win against Ohio st (who didn't even have evan turner for the game) is getting to their heads a bit.....all i know is, is they are in for a rude awakening on thursday
I guess even after ALL the experts picking UTEP in this game, Butler fans still can't come back down to earth because of their high ranking. Please Butler, who have you played that garners as much attention as you get??.....*insert cricket churping here
