Hutt, Hoopa shock Eureka
Roman Hutt scored 35 points before fouling out with five minutes left, leading Hoopa to a huge 61-58 upset over visiting Eureka on Friday.

Well the best game of Friday night prep hoops got the least coverage. What was a show down of the overly touted Greg Allen vs Roman Hutt turned out like those that have seen Roman play expected. Allen and Co got LIT UP! Had Roman not fouled out (a few mysterious calls too) he probably would have went off for 45 points. After last nights game, coupled with the 32 against St Bernard, there should be no question who the better player is. If you haven't seen him play, you should. Its worth the drive.

yeah i knew the game was going to be AWESOME and i knew that roman had been WAITING for the chance to shut down greg allen which i had also been waiting for since i hear so much about him. i was hoping roman would dunk on him but he never really got the chance. ah, well. both teams played well *stiffles chuckle* and it was a great game to watch. |

I CANT SAY IT ENOUGHT, I LOVE TO SEE A LITTLE 4 LIGHT UP A BIG 5!!!! IT SAYS SOOOOOO MUCH. I DO HOPE THAT THE HOOPA COACH DOESN'T START GETTING MOUTHY AGAIN IN THE PAPERS ABOUT HOW HIS TEAM IS GOING TO TAKE LEAGUE AND NCS. THAT JUST PUTS WAY TOO MUCH PRESURE ON HIS TEAM, AND THEN WHEN THEY LOSE A GAME LIKE THEY DID AGAINST SAINT BERNARDS IT JUST MAKE PEOPLE WANT TO LAUGH AT HIM. SO, INKER SUCK IT UP NEXT TIME YO GET INK IN THE LOCAL PAPERS!!!!!!!

omg greg is way better than roman...way better all around! roman does get a lot of rebounds but eureka wasnt blocking him out. well i hope there is a rematch because greg is the better player.

i agree, greg is good, but you obviously no where NEAR the game that night. maybe he was just having a bad game. fact of the matter was, roman had 45 points while greg had something like 21, AND roman fouled out with five minutes left. Oscar was doing a great job of covering greg. |

you must be romans momma or auntie!!!!!!!!! because anybody knows that greg allen is the best player around. i don't even know the boy personally but, you would have to be an idiot to say roman hutt is better. roman hutt scores and seems to be a team leader but,it take more than that to be a great player and grag allen is a great player (NBA) material.

Well High School Sports Fan, you must not have been at the game when they went head to head. When Roman fouled out with 5 minutes left in the game, Roman had 35 points and 13 rebounds to Gregs 16 points at the time. So, how do you figure he's better? Roman was 13 for 15 from the 2 pt area and 2 for 4 from the 3 pt line and 3 for 3 from the free throw. He ABUSED your boy. You can't argue with the facts. Greg is a good player, no doubt. But there is a new talent in town. Get used to it.

His dad and family moved home. His dad is a Hoopa tribal member, brother of Hoopa's Tribal Chairman, Lyle Marshall. Last year Roman lived in Phoenix and played in the largest school division playing against players like Jared Bayless. He started most of the season.

if hoopa wins tonight they will be. if they lose, then it will be a three way tie for 2nd and it will be something like pull a card out of a hat. greg is hella weak - LOL @ your post. made me smile a little. i think greg is pretty good, but he is still young and people are over-rating him. in time he will be as good as people are claiming he is. |

look this is gregs junior year wich means he has to fill up every stat column to impress colleges wich means hes doing everything on everynite consistantly u would know this if you know about recruiters... next year eureka will be by far the best team in humboldt county and yes hoopa lost to ferndale twice...ouch c'mon hutts step ya game up! |

You're right Rondo, the Hutt boys do need to step their game up. I have always hated placing blame on refs but they got 6 calls on them in the first quarter and 8 (4 each) by the beginning of the 2nd. 6 of those 8 calls were the worst calls/phantom calls I have ever seen. You want to beat Hoopa, get the refs to put the Hutts in foul trouble early. Kind of like that Cheating ref that worked the Suns/Spurs series game and slapped Stoudemire with 3 quick bogus fouls and was later caught having gambled on that game...

They are both averaging 19.8 pt/gm. The difference is that Allen is doing it against good teams and without any help. Give Hoopa, Euraka's schedule and they go 4-18, and Hutt would average 12 pt/gm.
