These "money games" were curtly sworn off by the current A.D. when he first took the job. There would only be "home and home" schedule agreements with mid-majors for our Aggies. That was one of his first declarations. Of course once this A.D. realized he would need to actually manage resources and get rid of hundreds of tons of dead weight at the Fulton Center, eventually he caved in and did what all his predecessors have done. He made the easy choice; the easy choice for him that is. Yesterday, the Aggies were prostituted for a $900,000 payday. Nothing has changed in the management culture at NMSU. The problem has been wasteful resource management in the athletic department for many years. Realists know that one more "nationwide search" will undoubtedly deliver us a fresh face for the same old loser's thinking once this current A.D. finally moves on. The one thing the army of administrators at NMSU does well is protect their own jobs, secretaries, assistants, pay raises, travel budgets, and perks.

An imagination on offensive play calling would be a nice thing to start having instead of being so predictable..run,run,pass is the usual order of play calling by the Aggies.. I could defense that with ease...also letting the other team know what your doing by getting under center when you run and in the shotgun when you pass..how ridiculous.. How about maybe try throwing a pass on first down or second down and for for more than 10 yards a few times to at least stretch the defense a little...I'm sorry but the Offense doesn't have much of a chance no matter how talented they are with the Offensive Cooridinator they have now or a coach who only cares about defense.I'm afraid NMSU is headed for more losing under Dewayne Walker. Just wait and see.

I was very impressed with the Aggies holding Ohio State scoreless for the entire 1st Quarter. It would have been way too much to expect them to keep playing that way the entire game without some serious depth. And then this isn't the greatest NMSU in history I imagine to begin with. Lastly I'm not much for moral victories, but a program of OSU's level should have scored 65 points under the circumstances. Again, keeping them scoreless for an entire quarter was quite an achievement.

This might burst your bubble, BR, but Ohio State 's offense intentionally played, more likely, the "ole rope-a-dope" ploy in the first quarter to keep things interesting for the TV viewers and crowd. In my competitive athletic days of yore, I and my teammates did it all the time against drastically inferior opponents. It's face saving for the opponent and a walk in the park for those with the superior talents and abilities. Aggies are capable of winnung the next 3 games.I think they can do it, Although, tall, fast flankers, who can catch the ball, are still needed on offense and have to step up. Go, Aggies!

Teddy needs to check his facts about how "successful" the team has been.
Sure, 3 victories - against opponents who have a total of one victory against a FBS team. UNM may be the worst FB team in FBS this year.
Defense? They're giving up more yards per game than last year (390 vs 369) while being on the field about 2 fewer minutes per game. And, they've only forced 11 turnovers in 9 games. The defense has gotten worse as the season has progressed (they've given up an average of more than 500 yards per game the last three games). The defensive line is way undersized, and scares no one.

The "what did you expect" commentary was written to those delusional in their expectations. That said, ours is a very bad team, and we are literally throwing money away trying fix something we can't. We're trying to be a major player in the college sports world, and it will never - ever - happen. We are wasting our time and money supporting this - and worse, allowing our school to keep letting it happen. Guarenteed - if everyone reading this who agrees with me wrote a letter and copied to the regents, the NMSU president (or who is in charge now), and the governor, we could make a difference. If nothing else it wouldn't hurt to try. That said, how bad is our team? They lost by 44. The point spread was 44.5. We couldn't even cover the spread - we couldn't even do THAT right. Why are in this game again???
