Sean, did you pick the receiver just to be controversial or did you really think they would pick him? There is no way the Vikings will take that kid. I have read in several other mock drafts of the Vikings taking the tackle from ASU.

I agree, I net they pick a receiver just because we need to take the pressure off AP. without an aerial attack APs back gets sore by mid season.

This mock seems pretty plausible actually.
Tyson Jackson will go a lot earlier though.
Also, I'm predicting Denver gives GB their 2nd rounder to trade up for Sanchez. Would be great for both teams.
And then I'm hoping the vikings have the courage and luck to trade down a few slots and still get Harvin. That would be the optimal scenario for the team this year and post-draft PR.

If the Vikings took Harvin with both Butler and Britton still on the board it would ruin my Saturday to say the least. Setting aside his character concerns, Harvin also is likely to not make it through a season healthy enough to make a good and steady contribution. If he free-falls to the second round then go for it I guess (Although I would favor Unger, Loadholt, or Wood even then) but there are better--and more needed--options with the first pick. We can get by with the WR's that we currently have well enough where taking an excessive risk should be deemed unnecessary.

Matthew stafford is a bust, i promise you. Heyward-Bey is better than Harvin.

Harvin would be perfect for Childress' patented 3rd and 10 screen play. Harvin could get five yards instead of the usual no gain. Sweet.

Forgot the bigtime TE Sean...no way Pettigrew falls out of the first round. I'll chalk that up to an oversight. Sean Nelson might be ranked higher on some scouts boards, but Brandon Pettigrew from Oklahoma will be the first TE taken somewhere in the middle of the 1st round. He's going to be a beast.

Vikes take OLine...move down and gather some 4th and 6th rounders that we currently don't have.

Harvin in the slot is exactly what this offense needs. End arounds and bubble screens all over the place. Who cares if he failed a drug test for pot. He was in college...everyone smokes pot. Plus, it didn't seem to affect him during his college career. He's the same player he was before the drug test. The biggest deficiency with the offense has been a lack of speed (Berrian and AP obviously not included). Harvin will help open everything up. Can you imagine play action to the left with AP leading into an end around to the right with Harvin? The defense would have to quit cheating to one side to stop AP. Unstoppable. Oh, and "DHB" is the next Troy Williamson

Oh dude. Come on. I grew up in Tempe. You just made the biggest faux pas ever. Confusing ASU with UofA. Bretton played for uofa. And although I hate that school with a passion, I'd rather see them pick him over Harvin.

I swear to god if the Vikings do end up taking Percy Harvin, I will be the most unpleasant person on every topic concerning the Vikings because I will rant and rave.

I don't know much about Heyward-Bay, but I am starting to wonder if he is the next Troy Williamson. He is by far the fastest reciever in this draft like Williamson was in the 05' draft but I really hope he has better hands and ability to run routes. I really want the Vikes to either trade for Boldin or draft Hakeem Nicks with the 1st round pick. We can get a tackle in the second round. Maybe that Britton guy will fall to us in the second round.

Yes, worse than now. If we do get fooled into taking Harvin, I will probably have a few tears rolling down my face and then followed by a few curse words.

I know that I have been saying this for a long time and you have probably heard it at least a few dozen times, but I still think we should either trade for Boldin or draft Hakeem Nicks. I have said this ever since Boldin made it public that he wanted out and talks about who we should take in the draft.
