Hanson's Son Knows UConn Tradition

Full story: Hartford Courant

T ony Hanson, speaking with a hint of an English accent, seems to fear he is a little overbearing when it comes to having his son, David, get a feel for UConn tradition.

What's the point of this article? Should I be interested in Tony Hanson who played for Uconn in the 70's? or Should I be interested in his son that isn't good enough to play for Uconn in 2009? If this a news worthy story please poke my eyes out with a stick.

If you know anything about UConn hoops you'd know Tony Hanson was one of their best players pre-Big East. If you're too young to have seen him play, fine, but why the cranky attitude?

I've seen Hanson's son play and at best he's a D3 player. Nothing wrong with that but he is not a scholarship player. As for Tony Hanson, he is a UCONN legend. About 5 years ago or so I saw him run pick up ball and he was still bustin ass. He was a ferocious competitor.

You have no idea what you're talking about!! Hanson and Thompson played over thirty years ago. They played in Europe and had a 1/2 cup of coffee with an NBA team. What does that have to do with anything?

You wouldn't knowa news worthy story if it hit in the face. Go clean the toilets. They're beginning to smell.

i know there are many different types of stories out there that reach diffrerent people in different ways. The Tony Hanson story was a nice little piece of nostaglia - a sort of 'where are they now' type. It interested me, it didn't you - big deal. Now, what do you do with these hard hitting news stories you crave? You probably feel like a big boy and yap about them, but can you talk to anyone about anything in this world. It takes more than the "big boys news" to converse in this world.

i enjoyed watching you Dad play...i was a young boy playing bball myself and i certainly was influenced by his hustle and determination on the court....and i am still influenced by him when i go thru airport checks by keeping my mouth shut and not cracking jokes - i think of him every time at the checkpoint...

Just seeing those old pictures of Tony bring back so many memories of high school. He made basketball look so effortless. He had that sort of a 'fro, but it wasn't round like the many of the other ones at the time. The ends were sort of stright so when he ran down the court it had this rhythmic bounce to it. Almost hypnotic. The Holy Cross gym was pretty small compared to the UConn fieldhouse at the time, so everyone was packed like sardines screaming...pretty wild. I miss the 70s :(

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aquarius

If you're a typical Aquarian you're often quite idealistic and today is no exception. You're wandering around on cloud nine, especially if you're thinking about a very special someone, and indulging in all sorts of deliciously romantic daydreams. Reality? You've no time for it right now, because it will intrude too much on your fantasies.
