Notre Dame can’t hack the 2 team format because they’re not good enough. With four teams, brat with ball Notre Dame will get in as 10-2 after bumping off all the other 10-2 teams. Sadly Notre Dame is still bargaining with BCS power brokers, while BCS powers like TCU and Boise State are scrambling.

No, it's about giving all teams a shot. Let's see if the Boises and TCUs can play with the big boys. The playoff should be a 16-team playoff, using the bowl games as early rounds. Teams should be the 11 conference winners with 5 at-large. At-large teams are those teams that didn't win their conference (or are independents) who are ranked higher than a conference winner. Only the top 5 at-large teams make it. Everybody gets a shot, and stronger conferences get greater representation. First round is 1 vs. 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs. 14, etc. If a conference sports the #1 & #2 teams in the rankings, they won't meet until the championship game. Eventually, talent will balance out across the conferences as the players realize they have a legitimate chance to win a title playing for a school close to home, and there will be greater parity. Of course, the traditional powers will continue to attract the top talent, but it won't be a given anymore that a 4 or 5 star recruit will automatically go to a traditional power. Just my opinion, but that would be something I would like to see.

A 6-team playoff, allowing first round byes to the top 2 teams. The 4 BCS games leading up to the championship games would be the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta Bowls. The final game, like the Super Bowl, would rotate cities. The two first round games would be played around Christmas, the semi-finals around New Years Day, the finals the next week. 16 teams is way too much. That's 15 games to play over the course of about 3 weeks. Now there are only 30 or so bowl games total. The NCAA would balk at that, I'm afraid.

Division I-FCS, Division II, and Division III have found a way to make it work. The only thing stopping it from working at Division I-FBS is the money. Notre Dame in the decision making process is a farce. Notre Dame is the brat with the ball, and can’t succeed in the current format. BCS has to change so spoiled kid-Notre Dame has a better chance to make the BCS playoff. When the 666 pound transvestite Notre Dame can’t win in the four team format, more changes will be made.

No more biased monopoly on so-called S-O-S tier system. Time to stop rewarding teams boasting they play 4 or 5 very tough games and then playing a bunch of Division AA schools. Playoff plan to run through A four-team playoff for college football has been formally approved by a presidential oversight committee, a dramatic change for the sport that will begin in 2014. The four teams will be chosen by a selection committee, the semifinals will be held at current bowl sites and the national championship game will be awarded to the highest bidder.

Good idea fellow Trojan, but neve gonna happen. way too much money to be generated amongst conferences and their inter-play enroute to bowls specifically (flawed) designed for them!
