All this bashing of Karen Armstrong. The family protests too much. Maybe they're embarrassed. Everyone is saying "I did this and they did that, etc." Where were all these people when it came time to put your name on the line and accept legal and financial responsibility for a teen who was a bad risk? Only one person stepped up, and it wasn't one of the bashers posting above.

Enzyte Bob completely agrees. Too bad there aren't more people like Karen Armstrong willing to put their necks on the line! I sure wouldn't.

Having been a good friend of both Karen and Levon, and being close to this situation from the beginning, I would like to set at least PART of the story straight. Karen Armstrong is by no means rich. She entered Levon's life as a single mother living on a retirement pension and working hard in a lagging real estate business.
I find it amusing that whenever someone receives a little recognition, people start grabbing onto their coattails to demand their share of the "credit".
Whatever happened in the past is done and apparantly didn't work so well. And I question as to where all of these people were during holidays, birthdays, football games, school activities, etc.? Where were they when Karen Armstrong was spending time researching college grants and loans, or signing for cars, or looking for apartments, or helping move Levon to Akron?
This was not about money or recognition, but about a good person seeing the good in another person, and then both of them creating a bond and working together to make all of this happen.
I congratulate them both on a job well done!

My wife I was there and we have the whole with loans for truck. supporting foot games. He was our house christmas Morning opening gifts. Ms Armstrong knows that we still an important port of Levon life and she should called us about the adward. Your so close ask Ms. Armstrong why did she keep going behind our backs when we had legal guardianship over Levon ( that she wrote aletter to the courts recommending that Levon live us and that we the family foundadtion needed for Levon.) I still have the letter. I am alittle upset and she knows about the cell phone and car, that we ask her not to buy for Levon, unless she talk it over with us first. She continued to do things behind backs(BLIND SIDE). I still have the that she wrote to my wife sobbing about how she had have Levon in her life. Please have her answers these questions. as a matter of fact I will try call her again since she did not return my last call. please please My wife are very hurt that she would take this recognition from us.True she help him college but so did we. In the begainning where was Ms was Ms.Armstrong when we were going to the HOOD to get Levon to from Northland.Where was Ms Armsrong when we had to pay out packet for Medical services.where was Armstrong when Levon had Nightmares of his Brother Clifford getting shot, on Levon's Birthday...I really can you see why this hurts so much.Yes she gotten him to College,I applaude her efforts. Go on karen, tell the nice people why you quit your job at the school where LeVon attended. Now you and LeVon have a strained relationship. Wonder if it is because you made him sick, trying to get the all of the glory for the hard work he has done. I promise you it will all come back to bite you in the ASS, as in mule. It is so very funny that your friends back you. When I saw you, you were all over that boy like white on rice. karen's so called friends, you are as guilty as she is.
