you're hired to be fired in all sports. Move on - Nix will use his experience to find a better college job.

How many people have to rely on 18-21 year old kids to be succesful in their jobs?

Not suprised about this move. Nix did not do a good job in installing an offense which was innovative. However, keep in mind that he was working with a very young team and I believe was trying to keep it as simple as possible. The new OC will have the benifit of having a more expirenced offense. I wish Nix luck. He will not have trouble finding a job. Miami was just not the right place or the right time for him.

Shannon should fire his own sorry butt!

So much for "Da Yew".

Senile Bobby in Tallahassee, and Doofus Shannon at "Da Yew".

Looks like Urban owns the state now. There is a new Sheriff in town and his name is Urban Meyer. Two national championship games in 3 years.

Just bury "Da Yew".

This will give Shannon another exuse next year when his team fails to get it done. Oh, "we had to learn a whole new offense". This year it was "we had too many freshman"

Nice time-management in the bowl game. Nix was not the greatest but now another new system to learn. The constant is the head coach who has shown he is in the Wanstedt mold of coaching.

"The firing of Nix means the Hurricanes will have hire a new offensive coordinator for the third time in four years."

It's sure sign of a program in turmoil and headed in the wrong direction.

But he is such a good "recruiter". Yeah right, lets see a couple more seasons like this and no players will be headed to Miami. What a waste.

"Go back to rubbing one out while looking at your Tebow poster.'

You only wish you had one that could get hard without viagra.

Shannon will hold a press conference this afternoon and tell us about all the "recruits" that have called him on cell phone telling him what a good move it was to fire his offensive coordinator.

Shannon believe this will only help recruiting. Just like he claimed his regular season loss to UF , and his bowl loss helped recruiting.

"Da Yew" reaks from the top down, from the goofy Shalala, all the way to the doofus Shannon.

Don't they say $hit rolls downhill?

Nix wanted to open up the offense, Shannon wants conservative O. Don't worry, Shannon will be gone by 2010. He's a good DC, but a clueless HC.

All you people are on crack. For two straight years we wanted better play calling and game management on offense. Nix ran the offense and this falls mostly on his shoulders. We have now been given the best Xmas gift in the world...a new OC. I think Randy will be given more leeway (money) to hire a better, more experienced OC. We are going to have another top five recruiting class coming in next season, including the best RB in the country. You have to give this rebuilding process time to come together. This was never a one year deal and Shannon is bringing in all the pieces. Under the Coker regime we didn't get any of the star S. Florida players and that's exactly what Shannon is doing . USC and UF weren't built overnight. Randy took over a bare cupboard and is putting it back together.

Funny how Shannon blamed Zellner for the horrible clock management at the end of the bowl game. Again it looked as if this team was not prepared to play. You can thank Cal's coach for keeping the game close. If he gave Best 35 carries, the game might have been 56-17.

Any truth to the rumors that Nix actually wanted to open up the offense and use a "spread-no huddle" style offense, but Shannon wouldn't let him? Supposedly on the radio they said that Shannon wants the traditional 2 back set, which totally blows.
