BuckeyeGal - I want to believe the Big 10 is a competitive conference. You think it is. Why is that? And I mean present day. Not 5 years ago. The Big 10 got their clocks cleaned in bowls last year. This year OSU lost to USC, Minnesota lost to Cal, Mich State lost to one of the Michigan directional schools, etc. Fortunately, Iowa did beat Arizona (who is now near or at the top of Pac 10). We'll see what happens this bowl season. Believe me I want to be wrong. I love the Big 10 and love watching Big 10 football. But when we go up against good teams in good conferences, it all gets very ugly.

BuckeyeGal - I'm not privy to any inside information or meetings. Just read the Columbus Dispatch. Or watch EPSN. If any of our assistant coaches were being pursued for a head coaching job, we'd hear and read about it. And we have read zilch because no good program would want anything to do with Tressel's cronies. And rightfully so.
Fans who criticize the current program are not fair-weather fans or miserable. It's the homers who make me sick. There are clearly problems with our coaching staff who don't seem to know how to maximize the talent we have. I was actually one of those people who until a few years ago thought Tressel walked on water. The past 3 years show Tressel would be better equipped with a life vest than a sweater vest.
AC/DC Buckeye... You are a fair-weather fan and you are miserable...

And certainly you are no Buckeye!

Go Bucks!!!

You're obviously bloated with self appreciation. Please tell your audience about your coaching credentials. OK granted maybe you have no coaching credentials, then tell us about your life accomplishments so we can compare what you've done in the last 20 years with what the "sweater vest" has accomplished in the same time frame.

As you know, the expert that you are; Jim Tressel plays all 11 positions on offense, and the 11 positions on defense, plus special teams, so if he loses any of those 3 games we know who to blame!

Agree with ya bout Saine running it up the middle, ha ha. That was making me absolutely crazy...I predicted the play call everytime on 1st down!! That is poor play calling. We basically played with 3 downs and not 4 the entire game cuz running it on 1st basically never worked. But overall, happy with the performance both players and coaches.
Did you predict the touchdown pass to Posey on 1st down also? Neither did Penn State. Hence the set up by running on 1st down, genius. The safeties were caught cheating up. I guess that's why Tress is the coach and we're not.

I love it. If you criticize the current state of affairs, you're no fan or you have to demonstrate your own coaching experience before you yourself can be critical. Slobber all over Jim Tressel and you're the greatest thing since sliced bread.

So many of you homers are blind to the problems. Or think that a win over PSU means all is well in Mudville. Apparently, you're content with mediocrity and coach who is better suited for Youngstown State than OSU. If you worked for me, I would have fired you a long time ago. How's that for bloated self-appreciation, jackxyz?

CONGRATULATIONS BUCKEYES!!! On your great victory over a very slow and un-athletic PSU, Which I predicted, that you would win. Now you will play another very slow and un-athletic Iowa team (with-out their starting QB, which you will win. Then up to Michigan where you will win again, against another slow and un-athletic Michigan team. They are terrible. Then Columbus and Buckeyes fans everwhere will celebrate their "WEAK 11" championship. But then on Jan. 1, 2010, reality will set in when OSU again will be the DOORMAT in the ROSE BOWL. Again OSU will be embarrased again in front of a National TV audiance by a more athletic and better coached team. Of course you will blame your defeat on having six weeks off and having to have to play in California in front of a hostile crowd. Reality must SUCK for OSU fan! Enjoy your "WEAK 11" Championship. GO GATORS!!!
Gay Gary, The last time Ohio State was in the Rose Bowl they won. It was at the end of the 1996 season, 2 years
before the BCS came into existence.
Enjoy the success the Gators are having right now because I'm predicting a Bama victory in the SEC
championship game. Florida will finally have to play a team that can play defense. I'm sure that
Florida International and a very sub par FSU squad will present huge challenges for the Gators
as they prepare to play a quality team. Look at the bright side of things, if Florida loses the SEC
championship they'll most likely get the Orange Bowl. I'd really hate to see the Gators play a game
outside of Florida unless they absolutely had to. I mean, why break tradition?

First, your post was all over the place. I took issue with some of your statements. And no, I don't believe everything that the Dispatch does or doesn't print. Same for hearing/not hearing on ESPN. Most of the media outlets, nationwide, have been hammering away on tOSU for a few years now. There are only a few ESPN announcers that are still spewing the hatred for tOSU. And we all know the 2 biggest offenders. IF Jim Tressel EVER considered leaving tOSU, he'd have so many offers, everyone's heads would spin!!~I know you were discussing asst coaches, but, really, that seldom makes national news. And yes, I absolutely believe the Big10 is a competitive conference. If you watched the Bama game, there were plenty of errors that looked much like tOSU. I am a true lover of college football. I appreciate it for what it is, and I am a dyed in the wool Buckeye fan. Lastly, I do believe it's cyclic. We'll see how long the SEC can sustain the costs of travel with a fair weather fan base. There's the real difference between a Buckeye and many other schools. We stay with our guys thru thick and thin. We'll see how many of those warm climate fans switch to scuba diving, wind surfing, or hiking deserts when they have some "lean years". Here in Ohio, we know our winter schedule; snow, cold and football! GO BUCKS!!

"....But the OSU defense was millimeters away from its fourth shutout of the season" Well said. That touchdown was truly a homer call IMHO.
Glad Tress is focused on Iowa so quickly. With Stanzi hurt, they will have some tricks up their sleave. Let's be ready for them.
I agree with you about the call. That was no TD. It was obvious on TV. Should have been a shut out. oh well , like you said, hope Tres and the team is ready for Iowa.

OSU84 - my math was off. Regardless, it was still a 47 yarder -- not a 50 yarder. You and Tressel are made for each other. No guts, no glory. Again, our defense is supposedly very good. So turning the ball over to PSU on the 37 if the FG missed is not that big of a deal. If you're not trying to put points on the board, you're not playing to win.
DC Acorn,(I say acorn because you are no Buckeye) you have no clue. No guts no glory? I think you would be much happier supporting Houston, Nevada, Hawaii or Idaho. Lots of points. Please try to be a bit less childish with you posts. Hurling insults at the pace that you do really makes you irrelevant.

Are you frick'n kidding me? The Gayturds could only come up with 27 against Vandy? How many did Teblow and co have to come from behind to win? What a joke. Wait till Teblow is gone. Reality will suck for you. The Gayturds are nothing without him, and that isn't saying much. Thanks for the great laugh. Roll Tide!!!!!!!!

Where is Claw, Sha Zam, Reality and all the other football geniuses today? Nothing to say about how bad TP played or that our running backs are so weak? And that Tressel is such a bad coach?
Did the Buckeyes get your tongues?
GO BUCKS!!!!!!
I think Tressel called a smart offense Saturday. Buckeyes ran the ball 95% of the time. It was a good strategy. Tressel didn't give PSU any real opportunities for a pick. Pryor is still staring down the receivers. Pryor is still always going to Posey whenever a passing play is called and he is under any amount of pressure. Other receives are open, but always choses Posey even when he is double teamed. Hope Iowa doesn't catch on and double team Posey also. I also hope our RB's didn't get too banged up by Penn.
