UTEP takes 13-0 lead against Marshall in first quarter

Oh by the way. Conngratulations goes out to the players who actually played their hearts out. Some people say that the Miner Players did not have any discipline and that its their fault...I say thats their wrong...its not the players fault....its the coaches fault, if the coach cant coach discipline the team then he needs to go..not the players..Get Rid Of Mike Price.

Great win for UTEP and yes they could have easily been 8-4 and bowl bound. Now players need to be held accountable since I am tired of reading and listening to el pasoans consistently blame the coach. I will say this again, who are we going to get to replace Mike Price. Price is a great recruiter and has kept this team competive in a conference that has gotten much better (6 teams are bowl eligible). His offense has shown consistent play since he has been hear. Unfortunately, the defense has been suspect, but it is hard to find solld defensive pass rushers. UTEP's secondary has been somewhat solid, but they need a solid pass rusher so they can switch to the 4-3 instead of the 3-3-5. Although it is a little disappointing, since I think UTEP under achieved a little, they beat Houston this year and finished with a win.

Lets get off the fire Mike Price band wagon. To those so called fans who did not attend the game out of protest (What the hell kind of fan is that) who are we going to get as a replacement? Also Price has kept this team competive is a conference that has 6 bowl eligible teams. His offense has been pretty consitant since he has been here, but unfortunately, the defense has been suspect. I think they need to find a few key pass rushers since the secondary has been decent over the last couple of years and switch to a 4-3 defensive scheme.

Lets remember Price is a geat recruiter and has done very good things with the offense, but it is easy to blame the coaches where I think players need to be held accountable as well

UTEP MINERS:

Look at yourselves - look all around you. If you can honestly say that you did your best this season, come out to the Sports Shows and tell all of us you did. Can you also say that the coaching staff did the same?

If you really mean it, you'll regain El Paso's support. Keep Mike Price away from the microphones, though. He's lost his credibility with most of us.

Football scholarships run the whole semester, and your whole college careers for most of you. You need to man-up and play football an entire semester, if not your entire career.

I'm sick of reading the Let's Fire Mike Price chants. I'd like to see any of you do a better coaching job. Coaching counts for a lot, but coaches can't make the throws and catches or prevent or force turnovers. The players need to be consistent, it's hard to be consistent when you play such a tough schedule for about a month, then drop down into the doldrums of college. This year provided good experience. I think next year is a bowl season, not gonna lie.

I know lets get charlie weiss, steve kragthorpe,rich rodriquez, and bobby bowden!!!!!!!! they dont even know what a utep is!!!!

I was also very dissapointed with the season, but hopefully the Miners can gain some momentum for next year. The Miners QB and star Running Back are returning next year. The Miners need to improve on defense and special teams. This team lost many games that they should have won. I still support Coach Price and feel things will get better next season. GO MINERS!!!!

Thats right they took some lumps this year, but that was to get them ready for an undeafted season next year and a BCS appearance.

You need to put a big fat asterisk next to that! In 2000 both jUTEP and TCU finished 7-1 in conference play, thus being crowned co-WAC Champions.

The only problem is that, head to head, TCU beat jUTEP that season. Technically speaking, TCU should have been crowned the outright champion!

And with the current baboso at the helm, we aren't going to win any championships any time soon either!
