Get Gable the ball if USC wants to have a shot for another Rose Bowl appearence if not a slim chance for a BCS title.

Pete and the new special teams coach has to take CJ off of kick off returns. It is just not working. We are probably near last in KO returns and we have so many other great returners on this squad. I realize Pete is trying to make-up lost playing time to CJ, but it should not have such a huge effect on the team. Field position off of kick-offs is vital and has not been in our favor - all year long.

Barkley should be in the talk of Heisman Trophy contention. What other REDSHIRT freshman has done what Barkley had done? No other one. Barkley is undefeated as QB & he has Tough road games at & against Ohio St., Cal & Notre Dame. Who else has been this good & undefeated as Red shirt Freshman Starter? Tebow being the #1 ranked QB right now didn't do it in his reshirt freshman yes. Texas Colt McCoy didn't do it eitherd. Sam Bradford didn't do it either. Now Forceir of Michigan is good but has not done what Barkley has. If Barkley being undefeated & playing like he has, is not Heisman contention then what is?

Barkley is a TRUE freshman, not a redshirt.
He was in high school last year.

Bradford's redshirt freshman season was infinitely more impressive than Barkley's true freshman season (at least according to statistics).

Barkley is a true boy wonder though, much better than I thought he'd be.

Ethan, I'm a USC alum and huge USC football fan, but even I don't believe Barkley is worthy of Heisman consideration at this point. He's better than anticipated, that's for sure, but there are others out there that are a more integral part of their team's success this year. He is still raw. The thing that is irking me the most at this point is that he's not hitting his receivers in stride. They have to stop and wait for the ball. If he continues improving this season, I would expect him to receive some consideration next year, and definitely be in the running his junior and (if we should be so lucky) his senior years.

Hey Coach! Put Gable in will ya! I think he's just as good if not BETTER than McKnight!!! Build his confidence back up a little and you'll see. ALL of the tailbacks have fumbled. Why were you so hard on Gable???

If Scott wasn't so concerned with creating drama where there is none and actually watched the game, he would have been able to tell, as me and my friends were, that CJ had no burst and didn't look very quick or very good returning kickoffs vs. ND, and was not 100%.

CJ just needs to find his rythem again. Not to mention confidence. Just look at his highlights from his freshman year on YouTube. That kid could thread it right up the middle! He's scrappy and is fun to watch. I hope he reads this. I think he's better than McKnight!

im wit chris on that one cj is a awesome running back has all the skills you need to be the best out there on the field..not taking anything else away from the other backs, but cj is the complete running back, and like chris said find his confidence again imagine knowing you can do what the other backs do even better but never getting to show it, my only concern about cj is that he college years are almost over if they dont give him the chance to show what he can do he might not make the draft, and he is to good not to be in the NFL!!!!

I know man. I hear what you're saying. Problem is scat backs have a hard time in the NFL anyway. Look at Reggie Bush. Unfortunately, I see both CJ and Joe having a hard time in the draft. Unless they both put on some wieght and start bruising!

Don't be silly, Obama's going to get the Heisman Trophy for the next four years. They're voting on it next week but he's a lock!

I disagree with you totally. McKnight has changed his style of and has become more of a north and south player. However, he does have trouble holding onto the ball. CJ Gable to me last year was an awesome back as well and I've seen him run over a lot of players. The upside is that he doesn't fumble as much as McKnight. McKnight getting better at holding on to the ball but I think in the next game we'll be back to our 3 running back rotation.

I would like to see that as well. I think we'd put up more numbers in the run game if Gable was in. UNFORTUNATELY, as the title of this article indicates... "Gable left out of tailback rotation". Guess that means the coaches see it differently. I do hope they put Gable back in because he plays with heart and again is really fun to watch. FIGHT ON CJ!!!

In the last two games, against Cal and ND, CJ has only averaged 15 yards per return on seven returns, which is extremely low for KO returns. He is only averaging 18 yards per return for the season, which typically barely gets us near the 20 and he is not even close to being in the top 100, based on his average, in the nation. His 2009 average is a 36% drop from his 2008 numbers. The thing is he doesn't look like he did last year and is running straight into the pile. I realize he was banged up a bit for ND, but even Pete Carroll said, in his press conference, that he was dissapointed in our KO returning.

All true. But I imagine it has more to do with confidence than ability. I think the coaches and CJ himself have been to hard on him and he's lost some of the fearlessness he had in his first & second years. If he can get the touches he needs hopefully he can regain that confidence he had and return to his SCRAPPY self. Again look at his highlights on YouTube. He is shifty and lighting fast!!! SHAKE & BAKE!!!

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
