Lsu QB Perrilloux Kicked Off Team

LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, who had legal and disciplinary problems throughout his college career, was kicked off the defending national championship team.

Coach Les Miles said Perrilloux "didn't fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete."

Perrilloux was a backup to Matt Flynn for the Tigers, who defeated Ohio State to win the national title.

"Ryan was given every opportunity to be a part of this football team," Miles said in a release Friday.

In 12 games last season, Perrilloux completed 51 of 75 passes for eight touchdowns and two interceptions. Read more

we are not all perfect, if les would have told him before recruiting him he would be kicked off the team for not being perfect, he would have went to another school. he is 100 times better than matt flyn, and les made a huge mistake

I have to disagree with you there...

He may have better God given athletic talent, but by no means is he better than Matt Flynn!!!

Being a QB is more than just running and throwing a football! If you don't believe me then you've never played the game at a high level!!!

Pay attention... Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn... What do they have in common? Neither of them are the flashy golden boy QB's... Both very under-rated... Neither are what you would call "God given Atheletes"... But Both won National Championships!!!

Give me a slow intelligent QB that won't make the stupid throw over a fast guy that can sling the ball 80 yards and I'll show you a more successfull QB!!!

I have a new found respect for Miles. i agree with your post. Craig Krenzel was great for OSU. Did he have the "God given Talent"? No, imo he didn't, but he had the brains and won us a NC.
I just hope Ryan gets his act together and dosn't end up like Clarett. That was a waste of talent. I hope Pryor stays clean. I will believe it when I see it. Hate to be negative, but once burned..... Good luck to your Tigers. I have no doubt they will do just fine.

damienr you should do your research before posting...Les Miles did not recruit Ryan Perri-Loser. He was recruited by Nick Saban prior to leaving LSU for the Dolphins. Who knows, maybe Saban will get his wish and have Perri-Loser back playing for him soon. Both deserve each other.

Damn, that lightning just took down the big tree in my front yaed LOL. We will need all the luck we can muster for that game. If "Eagles" prediction comes true and we do win, I will be sporting some nice "Auburn" hair the next day. a little clairol never hurt anyone. After all , at 60 I'm covering the gr...er brown anyway ;)

well he had more than a second chance, les had no choice if he going to have the rest of the team wake up and not screw up.

On one hand, your heart goes out to the kid after the losing his father. On the other hand, it's not like Miles and the rest of the coaching staff didn't give Perrilloux plenty of chances to turn it around. He still has two years of eligibility, but he'll have to spend them with:

a.) a school who will overlook his past transgressions and give him a second chance; and

b.) a school in the FCS (formerly div. I-AA).

McNeese State's a stone's throw away: could be one of many likely choices.

They recently reported, He Failed a drug test!!!

I no longer have sympathy for him... he has been given too many chances and time and time again he acts as if he's above it all!

Thank you, Coach Miles for kicking this moron off the team!

I just don't understand having the every opportunity sitting right in front of you and throwing it all away, for drugs (pot most probalby), gambling (with illegal ID), Counterfiting (who knows), and fighting... How frickin' hard is it to keep you nose clean and be succesful?

Watch... Appalachian State is going to pick him up and he'll be back in Baton Rouge in the Fall!!!

How would that be for a turn of events?

That would be pretty funny, especially if App. State does to LSU what they did to Michigan last year... then again, the Lil' 10+1 isn't the same as the mighty SEC and Michigan weren't the defending National Champs.

Miles did what he had to do. In fact, he did give him more chances than say a so-so player. this kid missed work outs, class, practice, got in trouble with the feds, around 3 fights in BR, and it 2006 he had 3 outstanding warrants for his arrest on traffic tickets. So...not being perfect is not the issue. Being a PremaDonna and thinking you are above the rules is a issue. these days everyone wants to blame somebody else for their problems. nobody is accountable anymore. in two years, we will not even be talking about him...he will be off the radar.
i wish him luck, hope i am wrong...but i will play the odds. I am afraid that he lacks the family structure to get through this........

I agree with you. I hope he gets it together. It is a shame to see young talent wasted.

In a way, this situation reminds me of what happened to Colt Brennan; he was able to regroup after being dismissed from Colorado, transferred to Saddleback Community College, then to Hawaii, broke a few records in the process, and was drafted by the Redskins in the 6th round... despite being sacked 8 times, intercepted 3, and throwing 0 TDs in the Sugar Bowl against my Dawgs(sorry, had to add that little caveat).

Perrilloux will hopefully do the same if he can get himself turned around. He's infinitely talented and will land somewhere; hopefully the hard lesson he learned from being dismissed from the defending National Champions won't be short-lived.

Thanks for the info about Colt. I had no idea! Yound people make mistakes and do dumb things. Trust me I know. At 60 I can look back and say what an idiot! LOL. I learned from my mistakes as most people do. It's the one's like Clarett that don't learn. He is still young so matbe he still will. I won't hold my breath. I think your Dawgs will be awesome this year. Good luck.

Yeah, I don't condone Colt's behavior, but he was also the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was accused of entering a coed dorm room uninvited, exposing himself and fondling a girl there. While he denied the charges (still does) he was drunk at the time and subsequently arrested on felony burglary and trespassing charges and unwanted sexual contact. The latter charge was dismissed due to lack of evidence, but because Colorado was going through a sex crimes scandal at the time, they booted him off the team.

OSU looks like they've kept enough players from last year's squad to be competitive again, but playing in the Lil' 10+1 conference is a step backward. It's good to see them travel outside the conference to play USC; we'll see how they do. The Coliseum is a rough place to play if you're not in Cardinal and Gold!

I think we may redeem ourselves with a win out west. Oh well. We'll see.
Again, thanks for the scoop. I just had no idea about Colt. Kids do some pretty stipid stuff when booze is involved. I don't think any of us have been immune to acts of stupidity while buzzed, at least once in our lives. lol
