Frankly, Lovie Smith and his troupe of clowns couldn't figure "all the angles" on a straight line. He continues to talk in vague references that rarely have any bearing on what he winds up doing.

There is talent out there and in many places. Thanks to recent behavior, we have an aging team with an impotent offense, built on Ron Turner's crafty genius. The draft has to look at solving a lot of problems, even beyond qb and a running back. There is size out there and a lot that will be available late. The question is, can Jerry Angelo even find, much less evaluate, them? With his advisory panel of the Keystone Kops, it looks pretty grim.

.

I don't know what Vaughn McClure's been smoking ---- Defensive End is the LAST position that we should be looking at in the draft.

I don't know about any of you, but I'm not looking forward to draft day. I'm fearful that this team is going to go out and grab Andre Woodson, a guy totally unfit for this disasterous offense that Ron Turner puts out there and we will be even further from competing for a championship. Lovie and his entourage should be looking at linemen ... offensive linemen, defensive linemen, wide receiver and a safety. If they go after a QB or an RB in the first three rounds, they better start. I don't want someone that is going to come in here and "compete" but lose the job to Grossman, Orton or Benson ... We need results on the offensive side of the ball. The waiting game with these "skill" positions is getting old. We need someone to come in here and make an impact right away.

Michael Turner made a name for himself in the AFC divisional and championship games, showing that he has the ability to run downhill with speed and power. I have the suspicion that he just priced himself out of the Bears range because the franchise is thrifty, but he should be someone that they try to bring in to give Benson a reason to play like he gives a damn ... and if he doesn't, then we've got a solid runner in Turner.

I just feel that we are going to end up drafting players for the sake of drafting someone who could be good ... it's not that they could be good, it's are they good for the system of offense and defense that is played here? You can have a load of talent, but if not used properly, what good is it?

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until the day he is fired. IF RON TURNER is the OC, it won't matter who we draft, sign as a free agent, etc.

Turner is not qualified to be a PRO OC. Tell me one player that he has developed in his SECOND tenure with the Bears. Or, for that matter, tell me one he developed in his FIRST tenure with the Bears.

As Doug Buffone says repeatedly, Turner's offense is an "offense not designed to score". It is a product of the 1980's. No imagination, poor play design, poor game scripting, etc., etc.

Lovie better figure it out, because Turner is not the OC to get us back to the Super Bowl. He was lucky once and rode on the coat tails of a great defense and special teams, but don't expect to catch lightening in a bottle a second time.

Fire Turner NOW!

We need a line and a RB before we go get a QB.

I think our QB situation can work if we put a line that won't give up a sack every 10 attempts, a RB that doesn't rank last in the NFC, and WR's that don't lead the league in drops.

Rex or Kyle can be the guy - drafting a QB would be a stupid move when our offense needs a fine-tuning, not a rebuild. And the free agents worth getting (Anderson) would cost us money we don't have and draft picks we can't give up, not with all the holes we have.

The Bears need to go after Zbikowski. He is seen as a second - fourth round pick from what I understand. He's a local kid who knows how to hit hard and knows football.

I understand the soft spot for Zibby, he's a pretty good player ... can tackle - 290 in his career at ND, most ever by a DB at ND. But I worry about his size and speed ... He has the occassion to get beat deep. He could fill a void left by Brown, who is never healthy. But if the Bears go after him in the 2nd or 3rd round -- he should be a starter by 2010.

Rex is like a young bret favre? How about an old bad bret - you know, the one that has thrown more picks any anyone else in the NFL. The one that throws bad picks in an O/T playoff game at home. The one that sucks in the cold. Yea, Rex IS just like Favre.

Jeez, I wish just ONCE they'd do something that was actually a SURPRISE. Nope not these bozos, they've got three Quarterbacks. You all know them, the anointed savior, the tried and true veteran backup, and the bottom shelf kid that gets no credit. And (as expected) the savior and the vet played almost well enough to make the TOILET BOWL. Almost...but not quite. So they play the kid when it's pretty much hopeless and lo and behold, he outplays the other two geniuses after sitting for two and a half years. Now they go out and look for a Quarterback. HEY LOVIE, I got some advice for you: TRADE Orton. Do it NOW so you can get a higher draft choice to waste on yet another Grossman. And that way, when Orton comes BACK to Chicago as the starter for a team with actual expertise at developing Quarterbacks, I can sit back and sigh as he stomps his old team even further into the dust of disrespect and ridicule. You NEED offensive lineman, are you looking for THEM? Nope. You NEED a Friggin' Running back, are you looking for one? Nope. You need defensive backs and maybe a defensive lineman or two. Are you looking for any of THEM. HELL NO! Naw let's go look at a mediocre crop of college QB, NFL wannabes to hire to replace one of the mediocre overpaid guys we have now. But FIRST why don't you go ahead and dump the guy who MIGHT actually be able to get it done for you. You know at times like this I actually question my own intelligence for being a Bears fan. Arrrrrrrrrghghghhh!!!

Would somebody please end the Jerry "Lovie" show now. The thought of another Bear hopeless amateur draft with these 2 in charge terrifies me. Until we upgrade JV talent in the front office and on the field we long suffering Bear fans will be mired at the bottom for many more years.

I cannot blame this entirely on Angelo or Smith. We can't attract top management talent because the Bears have a woeful reputation. The McCaskey's are so dysfunctional and are a joke in football circles.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Virgo

If the December sales are calling you, you'd better work out a budget before you leave the house. Otherwise, you'll be tempted to use your credit card first and only consider the cost of your purchase later on. Even so, you could track down some great bargains now, provided you don't get carried away and buy items that you don't really want simply because you're astonished by the amount of money you'll save in buying them. But you'll save even more money if you don't buy them!
