Martellus Bennet will contribute in this offense, he's quick enough to give us a legit end-around, and can block!

So the Cowboys are still relying heavily on PacMan??? Well, as good as a talent that he is on the field, I have to say that his off field antics aren't him coming to Dallas. Dallas already has too much trouble with the strip clubs. Do we need to add Pac Man to the mix?

Otherwise the commentators at the draft made a point about moving Anthony Henry to Safety to replace Roy Williams. That could be one of the best decisions they could make. Kind of surprised they didn't take a WR early in the draft. Maybe there is a possible WR trade in the mix before the season starts.

Overall, I think they did a good job in setting up for next couple of seasons with the draft trades they made. Hopefully these new corners they are bringing in, show up come game time.

Go COWBOYS!!!!

Why did the Cowboys draft a TE? We have the best TE in the NFL in Witten and Fasano is a decent back-up. I'm really excited about the Felix Jones pick. He'll be a great complement to Barber's pounding style.

Fasano was traded to Miami on Friday.

I liked the draft for the most part. I love Felix but would have taken Rashard as the greater value outweighed the fit and Arkansas factor. A bigger faster version of Jones.
I hated the trade down tornado we got into after the 2nd round pick. Great value with the best T.E. in the draft according to many. There were several very nice recievers on the board and some steals like Dan Conner who we passed on several times.

Why not take a QB at 6 instead of one of our inescapable flyers on a totally unheared of D.E. OLB. Jerry had a good day but ruined an A grade with the #6 and missing some good ones during the trade downs.

I was concerned about leaving mencdenhall on the board, but I felt better after we jumped in front of Houston to grab Mike Jenkins. Bennett was a solid pick. Most analysts had him graded in the late 1st-early 2nd round, so he was a good value pick and a nice insurance policy at TE. Trading up to grab Scandrick in the 5th was smooth, as he was the last player on the board graded in the top 100. Getting him a full round after that was a late steal. He also allows Dallas to get Roy Williams completely off the field in situations where they face multiple receiver sets, even if one of our CB's is injured. I am okay with the 6th round flyer at OLB. Carpenter and Burnett are inside backers now, having not panned out at OLB. There really isn't alot of depth behind Ware and Ellis (other than Spencer). It is good to try and develop talent there on the practice squad. A QB selection would have been foolish. He would never have made it on to the practice squad, and we are not going to carry 3 QB's. 3-4 defensive teams rarely do. There is too much need for rotating DL and LB's on the roster. As for missing "some good ones" on the trade downs, you must understand that we do not have much room for rookies to make the team with this roster. Jerry stockpiled an extra 3rd and extra 4th round selection for next year.

1st Rd F. Jones: should compliment Barber's bruising style well and add some flavor to the kick return team.
1st Rd M. Jenkins: grabbing him was a must. We now stand 4 deep at CB, and can better cover spread offenses.
2nd Rd M. Bennett: nice value pick and should be what Fasano was supposed to be.
4th Rd T. Choice: little bit of everything guy who can help if Barber goes down. Great value at that spot.
5th Rd O. Scandrick: Surprised he was still there in the 5th. He was definitely one of the top 100 in this draft.
6th Rd E. Walden: a bit of a flyer, but if he pans out, it is nice to rotate fresh pass rushers in

The biggest news is the extra 3rd and 4th picks in 2009. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jerry parlay those picks and a 1st next year to score his veteran WR before training camp.
