While I would like to believe the point of the article, there is probably more to the story. My guess is that there is no margin for UM or MSU to play Southern Miss. As a team in the SEC, they are expected to win (of course the quality of their teams tells a different story). If they lose to Southern Miss, they will pay the price in recruiting in the state.
