I'm with you buddy.

I'm a Purdue guy, so any discontinuity the IU program experiences is a good thing from my seat. I really hope you guys can hire somebody who runs the wishbone for next year... maybe even throw in a 5-2 base defense.

Keep in mind the situation under which Bill Lynch was hired. I believe that they are doing a search after the season.

It sure is great seeing a team that will be above .500 this year. Anybody know how many times that happened in the 15 years before Tiller arrived?

The same "improving" defense that gave up 48 points at Michigan just last week? I'm sure Tiller will excuse those points because of the O's turnovers...still though, 48 points? Hardly a "dominating" performance.

Actually, Lynch is in a tough spot. About all he has are Lewis and Hardy. After what happened with Hoeffner, I hope the Hoosiers do well. Look on the bright side, they could make Cellvin Sanctions the football coach too then both programs could wind up on probation.

Yes, but 28 of those came off turnovers. It kinda skews the statistics.

Holding a decades' worst Iowa team to 2 field goals is not the mark of a great defense. Tiller & Co. need to stop drawing strength from situations where they win the games they are supposed to win. Becoming bowl-eligible in such weak Big Ten times are nothing to boast about. When was the last time, any time, that this Purdue program beat a ranked team?

Lynch is doing a decent job. The Penn State game was not a shocking upset. IU was supposed to lose, they just came a lot closer to winning (and according to some should have won) the game.

Indiana is not a traditional program. It's a basketball school with a football team. Given that second-class status, it's amazing how much they accomplish.

I dont care WHO the Boilers are playing.....I will take holding a team to two field goals ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Thats almost a guaranteed win for Purdue and that offense, chief.

"Winning the games you are supposed to win" seems to be half the battle this year in college football, or have you not been paying attention?

The Big 10 is a pretty balanced conference this year. Michigan had a rough start, but they beat a pretty good Illinois team Saturday, and did it without their best player. Ohio State has an unbelievable defense. I think the SEC and Pac 10 are definitely better, but we will see what happens when December and January roll around.

Let's see......in Tiller's era, only one league team has been to more bowl games.

In Tiller's era, only three league teams have won more in-conference games - OSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

I guess the other 7 Big Ten teams are also losing to the top teams, as well as losing to the bottom teams.

Winning the games that you are supposed to win is the mark of a great program.

I guess you're saying that it's better to lose to worse teams, such as IU losing to a Div 1-AA team last year? Or Michigan losing to a Div. 1-AA team this year? That's better than winning those games?

Purdue lost their No. 1 running back and then lost to No. 1 OSU and current No. 19 Michigan.

Meanwhile, Penn State has lost to an unranked 5-3 Illinois team.

IU lost to the same unranked 5-3 Illinois team, and was humiliated by an unranked 5-3 MSU team.

Mich. lost to App. State and Oregon.

Wisconsin lost to an unranked 5-3 Illinois team, and by 31 to Penn State (And Wisconsin was ranked as high as #5!)

Illinois lost to 3-5 Iowa (you remember Iowa, the team that Purdue beat by 25?).

Northwestern lost to Duke.

MSU lost to Northwestern.

Iowa lost to 1-7 Iowa State.

Minnesota lost to 4-3 MAC Bowling Green and 4-3 Florida Atl.

As a matter of fact, the ony Big Ten teams that HAVEN'T lost a game that they should have won are Purdue and Ohio State.

Iowa beat Illinois, and only lost to Wisconsin by 4, yet you seem to think that Purdue is bad by only beating Iowa by 25?

Go whine somewhere else. Visit a team that loses the games they are supposed to win. That's about nine other Big Ten teams.

Iowa beat a tough Illinois team a week earlier. This was a good win. we just need more of them. I think the defense has been pretty solid and needs to continue that way and even get better.

What's he supposed to say? It was 31-6. Coach Tiller: "This was more reflective of Iowa's lame offense. I still think our guys suck and did a lousy job. The Hawks were just worse."

That's just the kind of support you want the players to have from the coach, right?

The Boilers are just getting it together. They want more. Running the table is a real possibility.
