N.B.A. Labor Strife Now a War of Words

LOL, the millionaires are complaining about the billionaires

146 million in tax dollars for a stadium????

The NBA is a corporate business that makes revenues from entertainment and marketing. If they were an honest business with reasonable ticket/merchandise prices, I would be more than happy to continue supporting them.

However, that is not the case. The NBA draft lottery is rigged so badly that the worst team in the league has not had a number 1 overall pick since the franchise was founded (22 years). Furthermore, there are no teams in the entire league that are publicly owned (unlike in the NFL). In addition, the NBA tends to foster a culture that idolizes a thug lifestyle.

Also, what's the point of a 1-year separation from high school requirement? What a blatant attempt to lie to fans. It would be much more honest to eliminate any age requirement than faking an attempt to encourage a college education for its players. All the current system does is force excellent high school players to play for 1 year at a college then immediately jump to the pros. That does NO good the college, the NBA, or the player himself. For example, do you REALLY think that Kyrie Irving's 11 game college career expanded his basketball growth? What a joke. At least be honest with everyone and eliminate the silly 1 year requirement. We know the league is full of bums anyway. Save everyone the trouble.

Several players are fed up and looking to sign on with the Harlem Globetrotters.

All along we thought that these players were "role models".

What a joke.....I've been a huge fan of the nba since I was 3 now 29, what if the public/fans just stopped supporting these millionaires. Empty parking lots, empty arenas, no 10 dollar beers being sold, no jersey sales = no more millionaires. I hate to say it but I'd love to see it, bye bye nba. Find real jobs. It's saddening. In this world with war, economy, sickness wake the bleep up selfish bleepers play the game of basketball, no matter what the owners offer your still making plenty too much to play the game I love that id be happy making 75k a year ....... Like I said what a joke

Naw the owners and commissioner is a joke. How should they get the money when they aren't the one playing? Makes no sence its time for a change. Players should get most of the revenue because they are the ones out there busting their butts and breaking limbs at the end of the day.

Owners sit and watch the game. Why should money go to them first?

The players are the driving force . With no Dwade or Lebron no NBA they make the League. The players are the league. I can't name more than 3 owners. Why? Because idc about them I care about the players so imo they should get they way. They aren't even asking for much.

Players should start there own league. Forget the money for money is the root if all evil. We could start ball leagues in all the hoods hahaha like how summer league was but on a bigger a way bigger scale and wit set teams. Cause foreal the league got some straight bums

I agree with you and that would open eyes. The thing I hate the most is all pro players making millions and we still have people homeless and starving daily. Everyone should have to give a portion of there signing bounce to charity. My opinion.

Well put, my friend. I've been a lifelong fan of the NBA myself, but strangely enough...I don't think I would miss the NBA if it went the way of the Arena Football League...

Based upon what is being printed, the sole motivation for these role models is money.

Because the own the league and take the largest financial risk. The average player in the NBA has a starting salary of $300,000. per year for bouncing a ball?

Name three other occupations that give you Three Hundred Thousand a year as a rookie.$300,000.00 and NO educational requirement, just atheletic skill, or ball bouncing.

The fans will pay the freight through beefed up ticket and concession prices while we players get new cars, jewelries, furs, and womens.
